5.0 out of 5 stars Legendary quality
Vasque is amoung the first names in quality outdoor footware, and this shoe is no exception.

Great traction, nice fit, quite comfortable. Quality workmanship and materials, which is critical on the trail.

Nice looking. They were worn hard by my husband and split around the toe area, he goes with Keens now.

One small quibble, and this is just a matter of choice. I think that in a SHOE, one might prefer non-waterproof for extra breathability. Not that this shoe is a sweatbox, but it would be better without the waterproofing, imho. After all, it's only so high, and before you know it, the water has come over the top of the shoes and the best Goretex in the world doesn't help you then.

I've been using these shoes for a few years now and can fully recommend them without reservation. They are sturdy and comfortable. I wear out a pair about every year. I work them pretty hard in my line of work. When I'm done with a pair in the workplace, I use them to work in the yard and garden and they last me another year in that capacity. So, go ahead, buy a pair and see for yourself.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice quality shoe but sizing is a little off, December 10, 2011

Have had these for a month and wanted to wait a little while before reviewing. They were shipped quickly and when they arrived the right shoe lace looked like my Bulldog had already gotten a hold of it. Fortunately it is just a little frayed and has not failed in a month of steady use. I would have to blame this on the retailer, cannot fault the manufacturer for it. The overall construction shows excellent quality and I have been out in some steady rain and down pours and they are definitely H2O proof. I can see where they may be a little warm in true summer weather but will have to wait and see. I have kept them on inside with temps close to 70 and my feet have not gotten sweaty or over heated. One thing that stands out is that the sizing is a little off compared to other similar shoes. I have Merrell's and Salomon's in 14's and they fit perfect. These Vasque's fit a little wonky. I did not order a wide shoe and the length is fine but they feel just a touch loose overall. As long as I am wearing woolies or double up on my socks (which I tend to do) they are fine. I would suggest finding someplace to try them on before you purchase. I found a local retailer and tried on a 13 and it was way to small.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome shoes, November 12, 2011

I recently bought a pair of these shoes after reviewing other brands and models.
I am very satisfied with the grip of the sole. The shoes are well built, has good presence and work great for walking on uneven terrain, mountains and places where it takes an extra grip to the surface.
Although you can walk with them, jogging is not recommended because they are not very flexible and the internal damping is rather hard. Definitely they have not been designed for jogging.
My personal assessment is excellent for these shoes. Highly recommended for the purposes I mentioned.
I hope they will be durable too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Light and bouncy, September 27, 2011

Good looking shoe. Fits true, but I always get a wide size for extra room. Compared to my Vasque Blurs, they are light and bouncy which makes for a good walking and running experience. Almost rated it 4 stars due to a distinctive horizontal ridge formed inside the back of the shoe where two different interior linings meet. It's very noticeable to the back of my ankle. But I do wear orthotic insoles which cause my feet to sit slightly higher in the shoes. That could be the reason I'm aware of that ridge. My Blurs do not have that problem having one continuous lining in the back. Even so, I'm glad I bought them.
