5.0 out of 5 stars Quality Hiking Boot!
I have really bad feet - flat, bunions, wide, the works. I got these boots for a trek through the Andes to Machu Piccu. I went on a few hikes and a backpacking trip in NorCal to break them in and then walked on them for about a week in Peru up and down mountains, through mud, creeks, gravel, large rocks, dust, snow, inca ruin steps - basically every possible terrain one...

3.0 out of 5 stars comfortable but not waterproof
I am on my 3rd pair of these boots. They are by far the most comfortable hiking boots I have ever had on my feet, but that is an individual thing. I have slightly wider than average feet. I normally take a size 8.5 or 9, and take a size 9 in these boots.

They are not the most durable boots: I hike about 15 miles a week, year round, and use these boots for...

I am on my 3rd pair of these boots. They are by far the most comfortable hiking boots I have ever had on my feet, but that is an individual thing. I have slightly wider than average feet. I normally take a size 8.5 or 9, and take a size 9 in these boots.

They are not the most durable boots: I hike about 15 miles a week, year round, and use these boots for about 3/4 of that. They begin to fall apart after about 8 mos. of that activity.

They are somewhat water resistant, but NOT water proof. (That has been true for all 3 pairs that I've had.) If I am going to be hiking in muddy or slushy conditions, I wear my other, much less comfortable but truly waterproof, hiking boots.

As soon as I can find truly waterproof boots that are as comfortable as the Vasque Breeze GTX, I will stop buying these. Until then, I have no choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality Hiking Boot!, August 14, 2010
This review is from: Vasque Women's Breeze GTX Hiking Boot (Apparel)
I have really bad feet - flat, bunions, wide, the works. I got these boots for a trek through the Andes to Machu Piccu. I went on a few hikes and a backpacking trip in NorCal to break them in and then walked on them for about a week in Peru up and down mountains, through mud, creeks, gravel, large rocks, dust, snow, inca ruin steps - basically every possible terrain one could imagine. These boots kept my prone-to-blisters-and-soreness-feet comfortable, blister and black and blue toenail free, and dry (even when fording streams). My friend, who has completely opposite feet than me (narrow, high arches) bought the same boots for this trek and didn't even break her boots in before, but also reported feeling wonderfully comfortable in these boots. Can't go wrong buying these!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great But Runs Small, February 5, 2009

I picked this after careful internet searches. Women rated this boot well. It is very light and comfortable. There is no break in time. The sizing is a big issue. I have always worn a 6M in any boot I have purchased in the past. I am wearing a 7.5M in this boot!! The picture makes the shoe look as if parts may be blue...it is not. They are grey-green suede, grey and yellow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lived up to my hiking test, November 12, 2008

Needed to replace my hiking boots after many years. Found these Vasque Breeze and read a number of articles and reviews on them. They did not require much break-in time as I expected, felt good right out of the box. I did insert my DownUnder inserts in them after a few test hikes. The real test was 16 miles on the AT in Pennsylvania (AKA Rocksylvania) in the pouring rain. Kept checking for hot spots, none ever developed. Dry as a bone at the end of the day. I am extremely pleased with these boots. So much lighter than my old favorites. Not sure when the water proofing will wear off.

5.0 out of 5 stars Satisfied Customer, April 2, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is the second pair of Vasque boots I have owned. I still have my first pair which were purchased 15 years ago. Both are excellent quality for the money. I bought this pair recently for a planned trip to hike in the mountains. I didn't spend a lot of time breaking them in because they fit so well and were so comfortable. I was not disappointed when I wore them on a 4 hour hike. My husband also bought a different pair of Vasque hiking boots and has been very happy with them. Would not hesitate to buy another pair.

5.0 out of 5 stars Southern New Mexico Day Hikers, December 5, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have had my new hiking boots over a month and they are working out very well. Here in Southern New Mexico, we have rocky surfaces to hike on and the TPU plate makes a difference. These boots are comfortable and easy on my feet. I have bunions on both feet from wearing high heels and the wide widths are a requirement for me. I also ordered a size larger than my usual size.
My old hiking boots were made by Dunham which have discontinued making hiking boots.
Thanks to Amazon for offering quality hiking boots at very good prices.

I tried on countless pairs of hiking boots before I slipped these bad boys on my feet. Perfect from minute one, no rub spots. Wore them everyday on my trip to Alaska. Horseback rode for hours in the rain and my feet were dry and toasty. No worries, a great boot.

I love my pair of boots. When I first got them they were a little stiff, so you might want to wear them out a little before you go hiking in them.

I took these on a 4 wheeling trip to WV and they kept my feet dry. They have a nice look about them and are very comfortable.

This is my 2nd pair of these boots I have bought. They are very comfortable and supportive. I have not had wet feet yet in them even though I have done some wet muddy hiking. Nice boots for day hiking and light backpacking.

2.0 out of 5 stars Tight, hot, painful, October 31, 2009

These boots felt really narrow to me, my feet felt hot after wearing them for about an hour, and they hurt my ankles. There are too many brands of hiking boots to choose from to have to break your feet for a hike.
