I am on my 3rd pair of these boots. They are by far the most comfortable hiking boots I have ever had on my feet, but that is an individual thing. I have slightly wider than average feet. I normally take a size 8.5 or 9, and take a size 9 in these boots.

They are not the most durable boots: I hike about 15 miles a week, year round, and use these boots for about 3/4 of that. They begin to fall apart after about 8 mos. of that activity.

They are somewhat water resistant, but NOT water proof. (That has been true for all 3 pairs that I've had.) If I am going to be hiking in muddy or slushy conditions, I wear my other, much less comfortable but truly waterproof, hiking boots.

As soon as I can find truly waterproof boots that are as comfortable as the Vasque Breeze GTX, I will stop buying these. Until then, I have no choice.

I have really bad feet - flat, bunions, wide, the works. I got these boots for a trek through the Andes to Machu Piccu. I went on a few hikes and a backpacking trip in NorCal to break them in and then walked on them for about a week in Peru up and down mountains, through mud, creeks, gravel, large rocks, dust, snow, inca ruin steps - basically every possible terrain one could imagine. These boots kept my prone-to-blisters-and-soreness-feet comfortable, blister and black and blue toenail free, and dry (even when fording streams). My friend, who has completely opposite feet than me (narrow, high arches) bought the same boots for this trek and didn't even break her boots in before, but also reported feeling wonderfully comfortable in these boots. Can't go wrong buying these!!

I picked this after careful internet searches. Women rated this boot well. It is very light and comfortable. There is no break in time. The sizing is a big issue. I have always worn a 6M in any boot I have purchased in the past. I am wearing a 7.5M in this boot!! The picture makes the shoe look as if parts may be blue...it is not. They are grey-green suede, grey and yellow.

Most people associate me with stilettos and when they hear that I hike, jaws drop. I have been solo hiking segments of the Cumberland Trail in 5 day sections. I did a lot of research ahead of time regarding reviews, durability, etc. I have somewhat wide feet, so I even tried on Men's hiking boots to expand my options.

Did I mention my feet are baby-soft due to my regular pedis? I hate callouses. This causes a propensity for blisters. I've been plagued with blisters even with my athletic shoes when doing cardio. I have at least 8pr of "professionaly fit" shoes that all still cause blisters.

I have oodles of special wicking / cushioned socks. I preventively spray feet w/ moisture-absorption powder. I've bought enough moleskin to carpet my house...

And I've hiked about 65 miles since getting these boots 3 weeks ago - remarkably few blisters. (I blame them more on moleskin that didn't stay in place). Toe box was good - not tight, roomy enough. My ankles felt very supported. (Numerous ankle sprains in my past)

I wore them around running errands to "break" them in. Comfortable. Light. I've been on wet leaves, mossy slippery rocks, jeep trails, steep inclines - I didn't feel that the traction, etc was an issue at all.

I normally wear an 8 in flats, 8.5-9 in heels (depending on heel height). I went with a 9W. Whether wearing very thick socks & liners or thinner light-cushion socks, the size was a good fit & could accommodate difference.

I haven't had issues with testing water-resistance. They have gotten fairly dirty - going to try Nikwax cleansing gel on them. I might spray afterwards with waterproofing spray - more for dirt protectant than waterproofing.

I have to make sure tongue (right term?

I bought these boots on Wednesday night after my old hiking boots of several years gave up the ghost. These were very very comfy from the beginning.

We left out on Thursday about mid-day and headed to Cumberland Gap National Park, where we packed 3.5 miles, 2 miles of which had a 2000 foot elevation gain, to get to our campsite. I had only worn the boots for an hour the night before while packing our packs. The very next day we hiked 9 miles round trip from our campsite and then on day 3 we hiked the 3.5 miles back down the mountain. In all of the 16 miles my very VERY flat 37 year old feet NEVER hurt!!! I did end of with one small blister on the back of my left heel, but I attribute that to not wearing my sock liners on the long hike and to not getting all the sand off my feet before putting my boots back on after visiting Sand Cave.

I HIGHLY recommend these boots to any woman wanting a great boot at a great price. They fit true to size, I wear a 7 to 7.5 in almost all shoes and in these the 7 was perfect.

My hubby was definitely impressed that I could hike that far in a brand new pair of boots. They feel as if they have been broken in from the beginning.

I agree with the other review that the color on the sage/tan pair is a little off. I did not see the "shark" color, in person so I am not sure about it, but he pair that is sage/brown is really sage/brown and not a "blue" as the picture looks. :)
