I ordered this shoe to use for dog walking and at the barn. I had a pair of the higher topped Vasque breeze boots, and I really loved them. They were comfy out of the box, and I had them for years. The Low VST Light hiking shoe was much stiffer - it would seem to need breaking in to be comfortable. It's a nice looking shoe, but it runs small. I ordered my normal shoe size and it was too short - my toes hit the end of the shoe. It's too bad - I don't think getting the half size larger would fit my foot well. I had to return these.

I wanted a hiking shoe that was light weight and breathable. I have a pair of hiking boots made by Vasque and I love them....so I thought I would give these a shot. Very comfortable, fit my feet well....and light weight...just what I wanted.

I hike 1-2 hours, 4-5 days per week. This shoe started out stiff, but I thought it would break in with walking. Unfortunately, this shoe has not broken in and is one of the most uncomfortable pairs of hiking shoes I've ever purchased. This is an overall discomfort due to the stiffness of the materials, not improper sizing. The shoe is made well, just not very pleasant to wear.
