5.0 out of 5 stars Great shoe!
Truly a great shoe. I hiked the Grand Canyon Bright Angel Trail, Zion's Angel's Landing trail & more in these and loved them. Kept my feet cool & provided great support. One thing that was also really nice was the Gortex. I could just walk right through the river and not worry about a thing. My wool socks didn't even get a touch wet. I'd definitely recommend this product...

3.0 out of 5 stars hard and short in the toe
I read reviews all over the internet to try to find a lightweight but rugged boot. I love my Scarpa boots, but they weigh a ton. This Vasque Breeze LT GTX appeared high on all the lists, so I bought it in a size 10; at the same time I bought a pair of New Balance boots in size 9.5. Both were significantly discounted, so I wasn't going to lose much if I was not happy. I've...

The Vasque are hard on the inside, not well padded on the bottom and sides, and the toe box is too short. They are light in weight, though. The New Balance hiking boots in the smaller size are longer in the toe and more comfortable on the bottom and sides. They are also lighweight. So I give the Vasques 3* only. [New Balance get 5*]

3.0 out of 5 stars They look good but I'm not loving them, December 25, 2010

This review is from: Vasque Women's Breeze LT GTX Light Hiking Shoe (Apparel)
I got these boots at the $51 price at the end of August, which seemed like a great deal. But you get what you pay for -- I hike a couple times a week and these boots are taking a looooooong time to break in. They are light but really rigid and they leave my feet in pain after just an hour. At least they're not giving me blisters anymore. I even changed out the inserts with Superfeet, which helped a little. I don't usually have this problem with boots - there was a great waterproof pair on clearance at Land's End last year which were instantly comfortable on my feet. Unfortunately, they've discontinued them.

I'm giving these boots two more months to soften up and finally break in. If they're still bad by then, after 6 months of weekly use, I'll toss them and buy a better pair.
