i recommend this talking akbum for the parent of disabled children in speech & language

I have bought this photo album for my mom's birthday. Photo album came very fast and in the great condition. We not only had a lot of fun recording messages with my husband, but my mom said that it was the best gift she ever recieved

We bought this talking photo album for a different reason. My son is 4 years old and non verbal so we decided to fill the pages with familiar people and things and speak what they are etc. We love it, and it got here before the arrival date.

I bought this album to help my son with "selective mutism". this way he records privately his words and then people listen to his voice.
It was a very helpful tool.

We used this for a going-away gift for my son's friend. We took pictures of all of his friends at his party and then snuck each of them into a room to record a little message. The boy and his parents loved it and were very touched. It worked great!

We bought this photo album for our upcoming trip to Ethiopia where we're going to meet our adoptive daughter. My wife found someone in our town that speaks Amharic (the main language in Ethiopia) and got her help to record a description of each photograph in English and Amharic. We listened to each photo -- 2 of the 24 had gotten garbled, and we had to re-record them.

An hour later, my wife tried to play the recording for a guest, and NONE of the recordings worked. We tried switching out the batteries with brand new batteries. We turned the unit on and off multiple times. We tried the batteries "backwards". Nothing worked.

We called Attainment Company, which makes the photo album, and we got a tremendously uninterested man who said "it sounds like you got a defective unit". He couldn't have cared less.

I would be very very cautious before buying one of these units.

A cool concept that could have been great if they didn't cheap out on the speaker. While I was able to get my daughters memories on this, my wife could barely make out what she was saying Xmas morning when she unwrapped it. In my mind I expected tears and all I got was a look of confusion at every picture as she was trying to make out what my daughter said in the recordings.

We've twice used this talking photo album to connect with a distant grandchild, and, each time, it has proven to be a big success. Most recently we made the book part of a "Flat Stanley" project (where a student sends you a paper doll "visitor" you take places and send home with stories and souvenirs). The album only provides for ten seconds recording time per page; so, while ten-seconds can seem like "forever" if you've got nothing to say, Grandpa and I had to be creative in condensing our presentation. (That or talk w-a-y too fast!) The album was especially well-received, and since time was of the essence for this school project, I'm happy to report that product delivery was as swift as promised. I'll buy this product again, and again, and again!! -- Granny Di
