Product Description

The flag of the Vatican City consists of two vertical bands of gold (hoist side) and white with the crossed keys of Saint Peter and the Papal Tiara centered in the white band. The flag was adopted on June 7, 1929. In the same year Pope Pius XI signed a treaty with Italy, ensuring that the Papal State, albeit its territory had been decreased, will continue to exist as an independent state. In previous centuries (especially in the 19th century) the Papal States used a purple and gold flag, which resembled the current one.

This is a well made flag that lasts through all four seasons. It is a nice landmark for visitors to find our house. We buy another each time it finally wears out.

I bought this flag for interior display in my room. I found the quality to be better than what I expected from the picture, so I ended up hanging it from my window for an extended period of time. Even after some serious wind and rain, it looks OK (though some water might have stained it). I don't think it's something you would present to the Pope, but it's a nice flag for a good price.
