It seems to me that many of those that hate the truth hate books like this. From a young age many are spoon fed lies and when they grow up realizing what they've been taught is false they get angry and refuse to believe such things. Books like this one bring to light the darkness that is the Catholic Church and those that are affiliated with it. Sadly, but also true is the fact that whom they're affiliated with is a government in which so many place their trust in. I know first hand, being that I work for the government. This is not propaganda and if you've read some of Mr. Manhattan's other works there are many dates, people, pictures, and concrete information to back up his work. People need to stop looking for opinions and pick up their history books and books such as this from a man that was alive when many of these events were occurring. The atrocities that have been committed by this money making false religion that millions love to adhere to is disgusting and I hope with books like this, more people will know the truth. Great Book!

Avro Manhattan is perhaps one of the foremost political insiders on Vatican politics. This book presents a concised history of how the politics of the Vatican allow it to survive and thrive in today's climate. Tha author presents very convincing points which illustrate the future goals of Vatican politics. The vatican is a chameleon and will use whatever means necessary to survive. I reccomend this book highly, but I do not recommend all the pseudo-intellectuals out there to read it. Reality for them really bites. Wake up to a better understanding of this ecumenical age we are living in! Any student of Church history and politics can see how the Vatican changed her alliances from the U.S. to the Soviets, and back again. Look at how our presidents kneeled in reverance to the Pope at his funeral, never done before in our history right?!

Perhaps the best way to define Avro Manhattan’s work is to quote the Foreword of another book: Lucien Gregoire's The Vatican Murders: The Life and Death of John Paul I:

"In the 1980s, Avro Manhattan warned of the papal threat to force economic movement toward Marxism in the western world:

`The lack of importance the United States gave to the election of a pope after the death of pro-American Pius XII through the election of John Paul II has become paramount in the thinking of subversive elements in the United States--the lingering evidence too striking to be ignored.

The failure of the United States to influence the election of a pro-American Pope in 1963 was a lesson not to be repeated. The blatant adverse consequence of that blunder enormous, the price astronomical in terms of lost opportunity and the deployment of policies and billions spent by the United States counteracting the subversive actions of Paul VI.

Paul disseminated his pernicious and anti-American principles via encyclicals condemning the basic capitalistic tenets upon which the United States had been founded. He condemned the imperialism of money and private property claiming to give wealth and land to the poor was to give them God's province...

Paul's doctrine `Liberation Theology' took on horrendous roots where the poor were collectively dominant in Latin America, the stability of which was severely threatened. When they reached Central America, military and undercover operations had to be undertaken by the United States to halt Paul's revolution of the poor.

Avro Manhattan (1914-1990) was a writer known for his criticisms of the Roman Catholic Church, and political issues. He also wrote books such as The Vatican Billions and Catholic Terror in Ireland, etc.

He wrote in the Preface to this 1982 book, "the Vatican will side with one or the other [Washington or Moscow], or indeed with anybody else, as long as it can further its own influence... after the Vietnam War, it sided with Soviet Russia against the U.S. In the eighties it has struck another working partnership with the U.S. The creation of the last two major partnerships became identified, one as the Vatican-Moscow alliance, and the other as the Vatican-Washington alliance... to the Vatican, both alliances were but the organic components of a far wider pattern in which they were considered as one single unit... The obvious ambiguity of the Moscow-Washington alliance, therefore, although a political contradiction, nevertheless was a political reality, with the capacity to further the interests of the Catholic Church, within and outside the two superpowers."

He suggests, "whereas John XXIII, a Pope 'tailor-made' for the people, opened the door of cooperation with a Russian-orientated world communism, so John Paul II was instrumental in launching a Vatican-orientated world communism depending no longer on Moscow but Rome." (Pg. 37)

He argues, "In Vatican eyes... the millennarian yearning for a global Hebrew theocracy represents a deadly threat to the eschatological teachings of the Catholic Church...
