I like my binder, but it has its drawbacks. I was looking for the case with the center spine that totally lays flat. Because the center spine does not lie flat your dvd's buckle as you fill the case. You have to be careful not to damage the contents. The weight is another issue for me. I was suprise by how heavy 200 dvd's would be. Because the case is so heavy, the use...

4.0 out of 5 stars Over all a good product, January 3, 2006
This review is from: Vaultz Locking Media Binder, 200 CD/DVD Capacity, Black with Chrome Accents, 14 x 4.5 x 12.75 Inches (VZ01076) (Office Product)
Pro's: I work with almost evey type of media out there and this case is able to accomadate 99% of my needs. It's "binder" like quilities in reguards to adding sheets and saving time over moving mass amouts of media around a case with locked in sheets makes this a winner in my book. The look is also very aggressive. I was a stagehand for 2 years and have seen even the most expensive well built cases shater into a million pices; i would recemend this product for home and office use only it's just not tough enough to take the damage a true profesional is going to demand from the product.

Con's: It looks and feels like a profesional heavy duty case but is about as subseptable to damage as any other leather or cloth case on the market. The locks aren't going to keep anyone out though who is willing to destroy the case to get to your media.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Case For The Money, November 21, 2008

Shipping was FAST! I received the case two weeks ago and am impressed by the quality\sturdiness of it. It also came with free CD\DVD binder insert pages. The combination locks work great, just make sure you read and understand the directions before setting the locks; once they're set that's it. Turning a full insert page can require two hands as the dual vertical binder rails are narrow and long. You cannot simply flip a full page to the left. It's more like a "lift and guide the page over the rails to the left" motion. Nevertheless, I like the case and am satisfied as it enabled me to get rid of all my plastic DVD movie cases.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not the same design as my other Vaultz media binders, November 12, 2008
This review is from: Vaultz Locking Media Binder, 200 CD/DVD Capacity, Black with Chrome Accents, 14 x 4.5 x 12.75 Inches (VZ01076) (Office Product)
I lost all patience with ordinary DVD cases years ago, so I've been storing my substantial collection in these Vaultz media binders. The three I owned prior to purchasing the one under discussion are solid, well-built units.

This one seems about as well-made as its predecessors, but the design is slightly different: the corners are sharper and less rounded, the carry handle feels slighter in one's grip, and the top hinges in only one place (as opposed to a kind of double-hinge the others had).

Furthermore, the "rings" inside are shaped very differently from those in my other three Vaultz binders. They're oblong and squarish, with rounded corners, as opposed to what I think of as "D"-shaped rings in my prior units. This change in the ring design may actually improve the way 25 pages fully loaded with DVDs rest in the case, and make it easier to flip through looking for a particular disc.

At any rate, if you have a large collection of DVDs and are so inclined, Vaultz media binders get my enthusiastic thumbs-up.

You have to be careful not to damage the contents. The weight is another issue for me. I was suprise by how heavy 200 dvd's would be. Because the case is so heavy, the use of the strap is almost impossible. If the strap was thicker & wider like a computer case strap for example, it would be 100% better. That way it wouldn't cut into your shoulder. Overall, it's a nice product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Locking Media Binder - 200 Sleeve, August 27, 2007
By
This review is from: Vaultz Locking Media Binder, 200 CD/DVD Capacity, Black with Chrome Accents, 14 x 4.5 x 12.75 Inches (VZ01076) (Office Product)
I purchased this item aboout 1 month ago, even after reading all the negative reviews..... but it really is a great product. A reviewer complained about the lock jamming. Mine jammed a little too... but you know what, a little bit of oil, like 3 in 1 home oil or some sparay lubricate and it moved with ease and hasnt given me a problem since. The inserts arent all that bad either.... sure they are not the best I have seen, and they are certainly not the worst either. They still do their job of protecting the CDs from getting scratched. The design is great, looks cool when I pull it out of my trunk with a handcuff attached to it. Try it out... if not you always got 30 days to retun it.

2.0 out of 5 stars good but with faulty locks, December 28, 2005

This review is from: Vaultz Locking Media Binder, 200 CD/DVD Capacity, Black with Chrome Accents, 14 x 4.5 x 12.75 Inches (VZ01076) (Office Product)
This media binder is large and has room to add more pages. It feels sturdy and secure, and looks really professional. This is a good price as well, because Hastings is selling it for way more. However, the mechanism for the locks broke or something because when I went to unlock it a couple days after I bought it, nothing. I had to pry it open with a screwdriver. The vaultz people were really helpful and sent a replacement. This would be perfect if not for this locking failure, because the case is so nice and holds notebooks and lots of other stuff as well. I'd pay more $$ for working locks!

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed with the style, March 29, 2009

I was disappointed with the style of the item that I received. Vaultz has changed the design of this item. I was looking for the old design, which had a separate bottom piece with 2 hinges (one on each side of the bottom piece), that allowed the binder to open up completely & D rings that make it easier to access all the pages in it. This was what was pictured. What I received however, was the new design that has just 2 sections, 1 hinge & U rings, that, in combination, make it difficult to access the pages in the back. I was very disappointed with the misleading pictures on the site.

1.0 out of 5 stars Classic case of bait and switch!, February 1, 2010

This review is from: Vaultz Locking Media Binder, 200 CD/DVD Capacity, Black with Chrome Accents, 14 x 4.5 x 12.75 Inches (VZ01076) (Office Product)
This case is not the one that was pictured when I purchased it! It claims to hold
two hundred dvd's and that is true if you only want to be able to reach about one
third of them, any more than that you have to take the top twelve sheets out to
get to the one's on the bottom. Very disappointed with Amazon for even pulling a
stunt like this. Now I realize why they waited more than an entire month to ask me to review this product. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS CASE, SAVE YOUR MONEY.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy Case for Your DVD/CD Collection, December 19, 2010

This review is from: Vaultz Locking Media Binder, 200 CD/DVD Capacity, Black with Chrome Accents, 14 x 4.5 x 12.75 Inches (VZ01076) (Office Product)
This is a really sturdy case for your DVD's/CD's. I feel like my movies are really safe in it. The DVD/CD sleeves are high quality and I haven't had any to rip as of yet. My only complaint is that it's a little difficult to open (not the lock, the case.) I particularly like the locking feature.

3.0 out of 5 stars Matter of Personal Preference, August 24, 2008
This review is from: Vaultz Locking Media Binder, 200 CD/DVD Capacity, Black with Chrome Accents, 14 x 4.5 x 12.75 Inches (VZ01076) (Office Product)
I own two of these binders as well as three of the two drawer cabinets. I love Vaultz but only gave it three stars because:
1. Faulty lock on first one I bought, had to exchange it
2. Pages don't turn freely.
3. The interior pockets don't hold dvd inserts securely, they are prone to sliding out when openening the binder.
4. More difficult to keep items alphabetized without wasting pages.
5. Difficult to label media without titles on them or double sided discs.

If you are constantly on the go with CDs and DVDs this might be right for you. I have found that it is easier to maintain my collections of CDs, DVDs and software by using the file drawers with cd sleeves. I currently useone binder for all things Star Trek and the other for all things Stargate. I found the binders a superior choice for housing TV series with many seasons, movies and spinoff series.
