We bought this for my [...] daughter for Christmas last year. She has told us repeatedly over the past 8 months since then that it is the BEST present she has ever gotten. It has gone to camp with her, school, birthday parties, etc. She has learned to download the pictures and videos herself onto the computer, and has recently made a DVD for her friends from some of the footage. No, the quality of the video isn't what you will find on a "non-kids" camcorder, nor are the still photos, but for a kids' first camcorder, this one can't be beat. It has given her the freedom to video and take pictures the way she wants to, which is why we bought it in the first place.

I got this for my 8 year old daughter, and she LOVES it! She has taken many videos and it is nice to have these as she grows up. She has take Christmas videos, she takes it to school, she used it for her birthday party. What is neat, is it is her narrating the videos. Fun way to capture her youth! It is durable and easy for her to use.

The video quality is such that with any 'jerky' hand motions it 'softens' it as in 'slow mo' mode. This enhances the videos greatly and you don't get a headache watching them!

The photo (snapshot) quality is marginal, but it is still worth it. It is like capturing her life through her eyes, and worth every penny! Wish I had this when I was growing up.
