Vectormans attitude has just gotten improved,

The first vectorman is better graphic and music wise but in this game, you fight bugs who took over the Earth soon after WarHead was defeated by vectorman. You now rise to take on the alien threat. This game has better weapons an better morphs like the scorpion morph, skater morph and tank morph were the coolest, Now there are weapons like reflective beam, molt beam and other cool weapons. The only other cool stuff is you can do mini games easier (COLLECT CERTAIN AMOUNT OF PHOTONS IN A LEVEL BESIDES FIND THIS THING TO DESTROY THE RADAR IN THE LEVEL IN VECTORMAN 1). The mini games consist of going thru this tube blasting aliens and collecting stuff as a vectorman like ship and where you destroy moons around planets of a vectorman like ship. One last thing is vectormans voice is more robotic an cool unlike the first game plus the Giant insect bosses are WAY better than vectorman 1 bosses but enemies in this game are worse than in vectorman 1 (cuz in V1 you fight robots). If you somehow cannot find a copy of vectorman 1, got bored of it, or just looking for a action packed Sega Genesis game with a low feel but creepy cool bosses, weapons, voice acting (which vectorman does a good job at after blowing the bosses ass off), morphs and bonuses, Give Vectorman 2 a spin.

It's rather disheartening to see the quality of Sega games going down the gutter these days (The only good game to come out in awhile was Condemned 2: Bloodshot). The Golden Compass was hailed as garbage, Iron Man was also reviled by all critics, Sonic has been in a downward slope for years, and the new Hulk game didn't receive great reviews. But when you revisit classics like these on the Genesis, Saturn, and Dreamcast, you're reminded of the good times, plus quite a few good games on the PS2 and Xbox. Vectorman is one of those games that for some reason or another, Sega never revived it neither in console nor handheld form like many of its fellow Sega brethren. I have not played the first Vectorman, but this sequel is highly polished and rather solid for a side-scrolling shooter with platforming elements.
WHAT THE GAME IS: When Vectorman's ship gets shot down he crashes on a planet and must escape and defeat numerous enemies. So in good old side-scrolling form you shoot lots of enemies and jump onto platforms. GRAPHICS: It has the 2D/3D look. The environments are designed quite nicely and the game is rather pretty. I like the enemy exploding effects. MUSIC: It has a quiet, haunting feel to it. It is nice music that goes along with the game. SOUND: Shooting, enemies dying, your character dying sometimes, and his one-liners. GAMEPLAY: The controls function quite well and feel very responsive and reliable. The game can be difficult though and you can die. Also, sometimes certain platforms are tricky to reach and there are times when you miss them and fall to the ground. But these flaws are easily overcome by the addicting gameplay. OVERALL: If you own a Genesis you should pick up this game, and demand that Sega does a re-release of this game. It's a highly polished and exceptional side-scrolling shooter that's fun for anyone. Now, Sega, along with re-releasing this title you should also think about digging into your Saturn and Dreamcast catalogue of titles and reviving them if you hope to survive as a publisher. THE GOOD: Great gameplay, good music, good graphics. THE BAD: Platforming can be tricky.

After playing terrific Genesis game, Vectorman, you would wonder what the sequel has to offer.
Well, the sequel is actually a continuation of the first game. Nonetheless, since it plays like the first game, it is just as great and fun as it. The gameplay is awesome. You get to shoot in all directions, double jump, and get different weapons. Vectorman can also shapeshift when you collect a certain item. In a water level, he swims farther up, which is pretty helpful since he doesn't swim. There are some levels that change the gameplay a bit. The bosses are pretty difficult, but once you get the pattern down, you can defeat them a little easily. The sounds define the action genre. Shooting sounds, explosion sounds, and catchy background music. Overall, this is a really great game Genesis fans should go ahead and buy.

I got this as a part of Sonic's Genesis collection on the PS3, and I must say that this is one of the most impressive platforming games of its time, the frame rate is steady and smooth, and the controls are very responsive, and I would say that this is just as good as the first one, and I equally recommend both, as neither of them will disappoint; it is just good old simple but responsive controls, and immersive gameplay with CGI quality 2D graphics!!

The first Vector Man was an instant classic, this one on the other hand was awesome too but there were some changes, some for the better and some for in my opinion the worse.
The story line is a little bit more complicated this time. Vector man destroyed War-Head in the original game. Your doing your routine job of being a sludge pilot and bumping tunes in your space barge (that's what happens in the opening movie and it pretty funny and the graphics are good) and life seems like its back to normal. Until a missile fired from some unseen intelligence. When you land back on Earth you notice a new kind of enemy has become of all the pollution created by the orbots and War-Head, Mutant Insects! And the unseen mastermind behind this new take over. I wont write anymore spoilers you'll have to get to the last boss to complete the story. There are a lot of new things up in this sequel. The morphs are now level specific with an exception of a few. Like in the first Vector Man you start and end the level with a specific morph. This time you have a huge range such as natural disasters (the tornado morph which is cool) to heavy artillery (You can turn take the form of a tank and you can blast through just about anything). I would have liked the morphs to be a little less level specific but here's a bonus to the sequel and that's you can obtain powers from your enemies and morph into more powerful versions of vector-man. There is a shield from the Shield bug, Scorpion tail from the giant scorpions, Rhino Charge from the massive rhino beetles and also the tick punch from these huge creatures that remind me of some of the enemies from the 1st Vector man. You have a collection of new weapons that are very different from the original as well but heck, they also really get the job done. In all its a true classic with great game-play, funny humorous moments from Vector Man, and really cool levels. I might like the 1st one a little bit better but they are really two different games that are both really awesome. Its good that the creators came up with a different idea for a new storyline instead of just cloning the old one (cough cough megman) for sequels. The only thing that I really have to say is bad about this game is that I don't think a third one was made or I don't know of it, so I guess this is the last one of Mr. Vector. I will also say this one is a lot harder than the original even on the easier modes of game play. I have beaten it might take a few tries, which isn't bad either because it gives good replay value and I also detest games I can beat in the first sitting. This is a great one and any Genesis fan should own it.

I bought this game as a collection piece therefor have no removed it from the cellophane packaging ALTHOUGH I have played the game before hand. The gameplay is a bit sluggist but still fun to play but no match for the origional. It's definately worth a few hours of your time to check it out if not only to just mess around on a decent side-scroller. Overall I give it an average rating but within the same thought it is also a must try.

Well, well, well. Another action packed platformer made by sega, the king of the genesis video game stystem. Another game where you run like crazy killing enemies...ahhhhh those where the good old days where my brother and I played kid chameleon and this game together trying to see who gets farther through the game. The game starts out playing cool music and showing vectorman up close, and it starts showing the story and that weird [person] made out of floating spheres running around. I don't really get the story about this game but all I know is that so called "vectorman"(the game should have been called sphere man) runs around in the dark shooting at giant insects, bugs and slugs trying to collect protons and getting to the end of the screen to finally manage to beat the level. The game has boring level layouts and everything is so hard to figure out that I have to squint and shoot protons to try to light up the area for a split second and try to figure out the sarroundings so that i could make my next move. The music during the game is not that bad but obviously beyong average. I haven't really beaten the game yet and I'm not planning to because it's not worth the suffering and horrible eye strain. I gave the game 2 stars because I like the creative characters and the action in the game, though it was weird that the enemies just disappeared after the got killed. Overall this game is maybe worth renting but obviosly not worth buying. Thanks godness I got this game in the sega smash pack 2 which had lots of other great games that don't disappoint you like "Comix Zone" and "Kid Chameleon". Use your money on the original instead. So long.
