Born North Devon 1934. Farmboy 1949-56. London University graduate 1959. Three years rural pastoral & social work among Telugu people in India 1960-63. Research and doctorate Lancaster University with Prof. Ninian Smart 1969 & 1975. Teaching Indian religion and culture 1963-88, and Professor U.T.College, Bangalore, from 1976. Married Christine, teacher Aditi International School, Bangalore, many years. Both did community teaching and pastoral work, Inner City, Leicester, 1988-94. Three children, six grandchildren. Retired Old Dalby, near Melton Mowbray. Passions - Once cricket now bird photography.
