Doesn't work setting up a blue ray to non hd tv. Read the special note closely. Also cord is 3 ft. Look elsewhere.

I cant account for whether it works for anything but I can say it wont work for many things especially APPLETV. In theory you can't use a cable to switch a digital signal to a analog signal so I was the sucker from the start to think it might work

I thought that this might be a good solution to a Blu-Ray Player that I bought. It only had an HDMI connection on it and my TV did not have HDMI it had Component Inputs. But to no avail this did NOT work. At first I thought it was the Disk Player but then I tried plugging the cable into my Cable Box and that did not work. So then I tried it with my XBOX 360 Slim and still nothing. All 3 items I tried it on gave NO Video OR Sound!

Do yourself a favor and buy a descent Converter Box or Switch Box. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!!!!!

I wasn't sure if this cable would work or not. I was trying to go from the HDMI port on a cable box to component on an older digital tv. No go.

I got what I wanted. I am not a stickler for details so it connected my equipment. As for the high def, someone will have to answer that.

What this cable purports to do is impossible - HDMI to Component requires a converter. Do not buy under any circumstances.

Did not work as advertised. Product description says it is designed to connect a set top box to a television - Ummmm no, unless your set top box is also converting the digital signal back to an analog signal, which would make no sense at all. Should have known better.

The Device to which the "HDMI" connector is connected, needs to support Component video
(which is actually "sync on Y", Y-Pr-Pb)or "sync-on-green" for this type of cable to work.
These cables are not compatible with computer monitor ports or Y/Cr/Cb video.
Check your Plasma, Projector or HDTV manual, otherwise your picture won't sync!
In this case you need a "transcoder".
