The Vega Altura Helmet is a DOT/ECE rated full face helmet with good styling. The finish was good and it looks like they used quality materials for the lining. The venting is exceptional and the face shield was easy to use.

The Altura seemed good when I received it but when I got it on my head, it seemed a little small. What got me is that it also pinched my ears uncomfortably. (I lost the genetic ear lottery - thanks Dad.) I had to try to get my finger up in the helmet to flatten my ears out - not the easiest thing to do. That was the killer and I returned it to Amazon. I have to post that with my current helmet, also a XX, my ears are not pinched or folded at all. The problem fitting my ears would be my only complaint. This might work great for you and that is why I gave it four stars.

I only rate this helmet to the positive side since it fits my head. I've got a big ol nugget, touching almost an 8. BUT, this is one noisy lid...guilty part? Faceshield. It squeals, whistles and everything else you can imagine. I even wear earplugs and it annoys the living daylights out of me. I have even gone as far as to try and seal the faceshield with silicone and tape. Tape works, but look like a goober. Will not buy another one unless I absolutely have to.

My best helmet ever, ever!!! Perfect fit! I can strongly recommend this helmet. A litle minus is that this helmet dont hav SIS and E standards, because i'm living in EU-country, Sweden, and our helmet must be SIS, E-standard. But i'm driving slow and safe!

This helmet was build great, and has a great look. The only problem I had with it was that the padding on the sides were too big, and it press against my cheek bone big time. After trying it on for a while, I still had the feeling on my face. For someone that is looking for XX-Large, maybe a size bigger would need to be considered.
