My Tourmasters have reinforced inserts at the ankle bones, these have thin leather on the sides, that's it.

While these are certainly adequate boots, I believe they are weather resistent, not fully waterproof. Standing in water, I had a leak in my right boot. However, I have ridden for up to two hours in a pouring rain that drove some car drivers off the road and my feet stayed mostly dry. I say mostly because, I don't think these boots are leather, as advertised. I believe my feet stayed mostly dry because the uppers appear to be a high quality leather like material, that may breathe some, but not like a real leather boot. There may be some leather trim on the boot, but the upper on the boot I have is definitely not.

I contacted the company to verify what the upper material is. The ads on the company website and here on Amazon indicate that the uppers are "top quality leather uppers" and "waterproof leather uppers." I have not received a reply from the company responding to my email communication. So I did my own tests. These are simple tests - google "real leather" to get some suggestions (e.g. scratch, fold, sniff and burn tests). These boots tested as a synthetic upper. So I down-rated the boots because of what I consider a misrepresentation of the product.

Now, for the boots themselves, I actually like them. In fact, I have all Vega boots and three of their helmets, as they are excellent value for the price. As I said above, the boots kept my feet dry, even in a huge downpour. So I bought a pair for my wife. She wears them for safety reasons, but is not fond of them because they make her feet hot - another indication that these are not real leather. So they also failed the "spouse" test. The boots do not feel uncomfortable to me because I do not have hot or sweaty feet, but I can tell that they are warmer than other boots I have.

For the money, these are really pretty good boots. Just don't compare them to something costing 2-5 times as much.

They only come in whole sizes and they run a bit small - so order UP if in doubt. The removable insoles are worthless - throw them away and replace them with an aftermarket brand of your choice.

They're full coverage by design so expect them to get a tad warm if the temperature is above 80 degrees.

I sellected these boots as a size 12 rather than a 10 and 1/2 size that I actually wear so I could wear heavy wool socks and still wiggle my toes to stay warm in the winter. They are easy to put on and look good too. I had a similar pair and they are old but still wearable after eleven years.I expect these to stay around a while also.

I bought these boots when I first got a motorcycle in late April. They were great boots but, in June I sold my car and have been only riding my motorcycle since. That means I'm wearing these boots almost daily, and by October they were wearing out and no longer waterproof.

They are comfortable, and you can get them on and off easily because of the double zippers. If I were a seasonal weekend rider I would buy these again, but with how much I ride I need something much more durable.

Boots are really great and a bargain - double zippers make getting them on and off a breeze and velcro-type adjustments at top of uppers accommodate different leg sizes and make tucking in pants legs easy. Soft leather uppers and soft foot beds make walking in them comfortable. I ordered a size up because of wide feet and the upsized boots fit like a glove. Boots appear to be cut slightly small, so suggest getting next size up. Haven't tested water resistance yet - will spray with water-resistant silicone. Boots appear to be held together with some sort of adhesive rather than sewn, possibly for water resistance, so I don't know about durability. So far I highly recommend them - also great service from Jafrum and Amazon.

the good is they are a very light boot with a rubber bottom.

the bad is the fit. I ordered a size 13 but it fit like a 12. SNUG! Not to mention they dug into both sides of my shins. They literally rubbed the skin right off my legs!!

Don't waste your time and money on Vega Touring Boots!!

The boots are very comfortable after break-in. The internal mesh fabric allows your foot to breathe and slide on/off easily. They can pass for normal "street" boots with your pants over the boot which is nice. The boot sizing runs normal if a bit narrow in the toe area.

I recommend this boot to anyone looking for a good pair of riding boots that provide real protection from burns, road rash, and the elements.

Here is a product that what it is. Affordable, comfortable and reliable. Sizing was spot on, the boot conforms to my foot/leg size during the fist few days. I suspect the leather is not leather though, but I didn't expect this for $70 odd dollars.

The purpose for these boots was for a quick 4-day South Island - New Zealand ride. These we're comfortable enough to even wear on the plane ride to save luggage space.

Admittedly if I was venturing for a month holiday or everyday riding boot I might invest in a higher brand with specific features, but this boot really hit the spot with 'paying for what you get' & some..
