4.0 out of 5 stars Great Counterpart for Thrive Diet
This is a d.i.y. take on veganism for athletes. Keep that in mind- the focus is more on athletes and their training and how veganism works for them. Hence the title Vegan Fitness.

It's fairly comprehensive, and a great companion to Thrive Diet. You see them shopping, cooking, and working out. It's for converts seeking practical fitness and dietary advice...

3.0 out of 5 stars A Good Start
This video is pretty informative and good for people just starting out,but if you have been vegan it dosnt really give too much new advice, most of its common sense (ie dont eat a lot of junk food even if it is vegan) I also think Tonya while well meaning is sort of a stereotype a lot of people have about vegans (nomad-hippies etc) and this image makes a lot of people...

I'm not a bodybuilder, however I found that I didn't need to be one to learn from this DVD and to be inspired by it. This low-budget DVD is a labour of love, as these three seem quite close, and it has an authenticity about it that I really liked.

Robert, Brendan and Tonya are vibrant examples that it certainly is possible to thrive on a plant-based diet and be competetive in the fitness industry. Robert Cheeke is a bodybuilder, Brendan is a triathlete and Tonya is infact a professional dancer. Each of them are filmed going shopping, where they introduce the viewer to their favourite foods. As their fitness goals are unique, so their diets differ. Then we are privy to their respective fitness regimes. Robert is filmed at a Pot Luck Vegan get-together, Brendan is filmed at a practice race (where he wins!) and there is a focus on Tonya's Poi practice. This DVD introduced me to Tonya. She's an accomplished dancer and a vibrant personality - someone I'll definitely watch out for.

This DVD also provides extensive interviews with Brendan, Tonya and Robert. Overall it's a joy to watch, as it keeps a very positive focus.
