5.0 out of 5 stars This is the cutest life-saver EVER!
Sarah Kramer's Vegan A Go-Go is so darn cute you might want to just coo over it instead of reading it. This would be a mistake, because it is a lifesaver! It's full of travel tips, cute photos, and Sarah's classic recipes.

Look, no one loves Sarah Kramer more than I do. I think she's terrific and I have her other books.
There are two HUGE problems with this teeny tiny book.
1. It's useless as a true vegan travel tool. Virtually every recipe would be just too involved to create on the road. And the information is too thin to make a book out of. That's why it was produced in a mini book format. Yes, you could pack it but you'd never look at it.
2. Most of the recipes are a rehash. Just in a tiny format.
So if you have a very simple Kramer recipe you really like. Just bring a copy of it with you on your next trip. It will take up even less space than this tiny useless book.

Sarah Kramer's Vegan A Go-Go is so darn cute you might want to just coo over it instead of reading it. This would be a mistake, because it is a lifesaver! It's full of travel tips, cute photos, and Sarah's classic recipes.

Traveling when you're vegan can be very difficult. Often, you're in a place you don't know, and you don't always know where you can eat (unless you get a plain salad, yuck!). Sarah makes it easy by giving travel tips for tons of situations and destinations, and so many of her recipes are quick and easy and sometimes things you can cobble together on the fly.

Sarah's saved my sanity years ago. I went to my then boyfriend's house for thanksgiving. It's in another state. His family didn't approve of or understand my vegan ways, and there was little to nothing I could eat. At that time, I traveled with How It All Vegan, and I could make some food at home, and her cute photos and stories helped me keep my good humor. Now I can have that same traveling comfort in a pocket sized portion! :>

This is the tiniest Kramer book, but it's also the sweetest. The color photos, icons, places for notes.... All I can say is Sarah, thank you for being you and making it that much easier for the rest of us vegans to be who we are.

P.S. If you haven't bought one of Sarah's previous books (and Tayna for the first two) then Sarah's recipes are quick, easy, can be made with ingredients on hand, and are nutritious. This book is a lot like its author... it's cute, but it has substance!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great travel (cook)book!, October 9, 2008

Don't be surprised by it's diminutive stature when it arrives, this little book packs a big wallop!
Sarah shares her own travel adventure stories (both good and bad) and great travel tips. The book's size (about the dimensions of a passport, but thicker) is perfect for taking along on trips. It includes recipes for snacks and meals to take on the road. Also there are new recipes and favorites from previous books that you will have on hand to make for friends and relatives while you are visiting. If you've got really good friends, maybe they'll cook them for you!
A great vegan resource.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for travel, even better for every day use, October 9, 2009

I really didn't expect to like this cook book as much as I do! I bought it for a trip to Denmark. Many of the ingredients were not available there (or were extremely expensive), but those we made were really good. We did try some substitutions that turned out well. As for a travel cook book it is most useful to people traveling to other people's homes because one really needs a well stocked kitchen and electricity! It wouldn't work for someone traveling in hotels or camping. The biggest surprise for me is that this has become my go-to cookbook at home. So far, the recipes I've tried are good, most are quite simple, and the best part is that I can throw the book in my purse, pick a recipe during the day, and stop at the grocery store on the way home from work and pick up the ingredients. And I figure, since it's usually sitting in the basket with my groceries, it's a good advertisement for veganism.

Vegan a Go-Go is an awesome little book. It is certainly a survival guide for Vegans. After loaning this book out to some friends, they have decided to go Vegan too.

Everyone of her books should be an essential resource in any vegetarian / vegan kitchen. I am not a strict vegan or vegetarian, her books are some of the most down-to-earth books I have in my library.

Love the recipes....

5.0 out of 5 stars Easier traveling for me as a Celiac-Vegan with food allergies, November 9, 2008
This review is from: Vegan a Go-Go!: A Cookbook & Survival Manual for Vegans on the Road (Paperback)
Between me and my daughter, we have all of Sarah's cookbooks. Vegan a go go came into my life just as I was diagnosed with celiac disease and multiple food allergies, in addition to already being vegan. Most of the recipes are quick, delicious and are easy to prepare while staying in someone's home. Sarah's book has relieved me of the anxiety of traveling with food limitations. She has spaces in the back of the book for additional recipes, which I've already filled up. Her Rightouse Orbs are yummy and the Chocolate Banana no-bake pie is great...even without the crust (celia, ya know) Take this little cookbook and run with it!

I have only had Vegan A Go-Go for one week and I've already made three recipes. They were all outstanding! There are some old favorites and some new sure-to-be favorites all compiled in a stuff-in-your-back-pocket-and-go guide. The recipes are simple and delicious and I love Sarah's little anecdotes about travelling. A must-have little book for anyone who suffers from wanderlust. I've gotta go make my no-bake chocolate banana pie!!

Great recipes for when you are in a hurry or not in the most vegan friendly places. My favorite from this book is the fettucini alfredo.
