I've been a vegetarian for over 30 years, so I was interested to read this book. The book covers the basics of slow cookers as well as giving information about the vegan diet.
The recipes are all good and practical. My criticisms of a few of these recipes are related to my own odd tastes, like preferring to use less sugar than some of the recipes call for, but these minor taste preferences are easy to adjust for.
This is an excellent book which I have recommended to others in my family who are also vegetarian, but the recipes are not only good for vegans and vegetarians, the easily prepared and delicious meals you can make from these recipes should appeal to everyone.

I downloaded this book this morning and made the Vegan Moroccan Stew for dinner today. I loved that it cooked itself while I was working...but best of all, it was delicious! This is a great basic cookery book for those who are vegans, as well as those who want to have some easy and delicious meatless slow cooker recipes they can count on. I can’t wait to try the Risotto and the Quinoa Casserole recipes. My daughter plans to make the Portobello Mushroom Sandwiches, Ginger Teriyaki Tofu, and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake. It will take us a while to work our way through all the recipes in this book. One of the things I really appreciate is that it doesn’t call for a lot of expensive and exotic ingredients. Most of the ingredients are ones I already keep on hand.

This book inspired me to buy a crockpot and I haven't turned back. It is probably not for a person who is new to being vegan or vegetarian--or looking for specific brand recommendations and step-by-step but as someone who has been vegetarian for 5 years and has never used a cookbook I had no problem making the recipes. Everything I have made has been super tasty, including the granola. I've also been inspired to make my own staples like cooking and freezing beans, sauce, etc. from scratch. This book has changed the way I think about cooking and is a perfect companion to Wildly Affordable Organic.

I couldn't wait to try these delicious dinners. The only thing is that I couldn't wait but had to because the meals had to prepare over time. In this rushing instant world, it was a challege to cook in a slow vegan cooker. Waiting and wondering not knowing what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised at the great tasting, energy exploding spinach & lentil soup. There is just something special about a good tasting food that you could feel the freshness of the texture. Later I had the root vegetable stew. Superb. Waiting now on the poor man's chili. I was not really vegan but wasn't a meat eater. In fact I only eat chicken and fish. It seems to me that these recipes will help me cut down and ultimately eliminate chicken and fish from my diet. It will help you too. I give it 5 stars.

There are a number of interesting recipes in this book and the price certainly makes it worth your while. I give this book only three stars because the directions don't always refer to the ingredients in the order they're listed; this can be confusing while following the recipe. I've also come across at least one recipe where an ingredient in the list isn't mentioned in the recipe (Red Wine Poached Pears has white sugar in the recipe list but it's never mentioned in the directions). On the other hand, there's more than one recipe I'm looking forward to trying.

The easier it is to make a healthy and delicious recipe, the better. That is why when I had a chance to read Vegan Slow Cooker: Easy Delicious, Nutritious Hands-Off Cooking for Busy People by Dana Winters, I was thrilled. It is jam-packed with simple slow cooker recipes that are amazing and well worth trying.

Recipes like Vegan Hot and Sour Soup, Garden Green Tea Soup, and Smoky Refried Bean Soup lead the way, but the book is not just a bunch of soup recipes. It also features Vegan Irish Stew, Sweet Potato Chili, Vegan Mac and Cheese, and Quinoa Casserole. My favorite section, however, would have to be the desserts which are so easy because they are made in your slow cooker and cook while you are outside enjoying the summer sunshine. The Vegan Chocolate Peanut Butter Slow Cooker Cake is so yummy and the Stuffed Baked Apples make the whole house smell delicious.

Because this book is available in e-book format from Amazon, it is super portable and you can take it with you when heading over to a summer cabin or to stay with family and friends. With recipes this good, everyone will love eating vegan.

I cooked the Vegan Irish Stew last Tuesday and loved it. The recipes are easy to follow and the ingredients are already in your kitchen. These so not cost and arm and a leg at the Grocery Store. My entire family enjoyed it. I will keep this book and try a few more of the recipes. I hope the author writes more Vegan cookbooks. Thank you.
