True Love Comes in All Shapes and Sizes, February 10, 2008
This review is from: Vegas Bites: Three of a Kind (Paperback)
I cannot believe that I would ever see the day where I could say I read a book about werewolves and truly enjoyed it. I never liked looking at them on television, but by keeping my mind open to new things I was able to be exposed to a world that I never could have imagined. Who would ever believe it possible to see the day when werewolves, witches, djinns, demons, and vampires could roam the earth freely, and people would not only believe in them, but accept them. Vegas Bites Back is the collaborative effort of Natalie Dunbar, Seressia Glass, Monique Lamont and J.M. Jeffries. Four women, four stories, but one world providing the possibility that anything can happen if we are willing to believe. These four stories are incredible tales of overcoming obstacles to be with the one you love, the person you were destined to be with.
Seressia Glass penned a story, showing what happens when the moon meets the wolf in Channeling Moonlight. Leila Davenport has a gift; she did not realize she has, until she is in a life or death situation. She looks at the moon, prays for help, unexpectedly help comes in the shape of a wolf. Guy, the wolf, feels a pull leading him to the beautiful, powerful woman. Would she be a danger to him and his pack family?
Monique Lamont's Passion's Blood divulges the world of two people's mistake. When wolves mate, it is usually for life, unless you are Octavia Montague. She struggles with the thing many women suffer from, choosing the wrong person to be in love with. Being alone and in heat impairs her judgment, when it becomes apparent someone is trying to destroy her pack she has to do what she believes needs to be done. Antoine Lancaster and she are placed in a world that neither expects. The connection they have with one another is more complex than any two strangers can ever imagine.
Natalie Dunbar's The Golden Wolf creates mystical suspense. A person is never truly complete until they understand where they come from and the talent they possess. Kellie, a mystical and powerful woman, finds herself with a werewolf, Garen Roy, who allows her to be who she is no matter what, until the challenges of the unknown forces Kellie to explore the things which were unfamiliar to her. Will their relationship survive once they realize how powerful Kellie really is?
Malcolm Temple, the alpha werewolf, who will take over the leadership of the Temple Pack, hears everyone tell him he needs to find himself a mate. The pack that is dropped in front of him on the day he should be looking at all the most respectable unmated female werewolves, will serve as a distraction. Ali, a hell hound running from her duties in the underworld, heads straight into the casino of her enemies for protection. What she finds is not what she expected when she went looking for help. Ain't Nothing But A Hell Hound by J.M. Jeffries is a look at what can happen when bargaining with the devil.
Vegas Bites Back is a collaboration of four authors creating a world, where paranormal beings do exist. These authors penned stories that can stand alone, but are ongoing stories which flow from one to the other. I would not have been able to figure out that this book was written by different authors if it were not a known fact. Their writing styles complimented each others. My one concern is I read an uncorrected advance copy, and there were numerous errors. I hope proper editing was done, so that the beauty of this book will shine. I recommend Vegas Bites Back to fans of either paranormal or romance stories. I think either person will truly enjoy this book.
