4.0 out of 5 stars Jazz and super stereophonic!
This album is very cool. I saw them at my school with Jars of Clay last year, and was blown away by their performance! These guys sure do have a lot of energy, and they capture it well with this CD. 2.0 out of 5 stars The first two songs are good, but that's it.
I saw them live w/ Jars of Clay, and their songs "Original" and "Yo Tengo" got utterly stuck in my head. Naturally I ordered the album, and boy was I disappointed. These boys are trying to pull some kind of 311 type act and it just is not working. Not good by any standards.

This album is very cool. I saw them at my school with Jars of Clay last year, and was blown away by their performance! These guys sure do have a lot of energy, and they capture it well with this CD. "Original" and "Yo Tengo" are two HUGE reasons to get this album--the songs just plain ROCK! But, there are some differnct songs on this disc...and that is why it is lacking the one star that would give it a 5. But, their are some cool ones and some ok ones. My suggestion is to borrow this CD from a friend and make your own judgement. Then, if you like it, come back here and buy it! Thanks and God Bless!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good rap?, January 20, 2004

Yes there is such a thing. This just really had me moving. Unlike most artist of this genre, these guys right meaningful and insightful lyrics. Also this CD is cheap so listen to some samples and if you like what you hear then buy the freakin thing. My personal fav. track is VERB. It means alot to me and I often find myself singing it. Oh and by the way I happen to be into punk, hardcore, ska, metal, and emo, so it takes alot to impress me, and let me tell you, these guys blew me away. I loved every sing second of this amazing CD. Too bad these guys aren't together anymore. This is a must have for any music lover.

Well, well, well...this one's quite interesting. This was the first album I picked up from these guys, even though it's their second. I demoed it a while before I bought it, but something about it just didn't appeal to me enough to me to make the purchase at the time. Until I heard one particular song from "Vegas" on another comp. That song was "Original". The beat, the lyrics, the guitar...everything about that song was awesome. Even though it's only a couple of minutes long, it grabs hold and doesn't let go until the end. When I bought the CD a couple months back, I found out that "Original" isn't even the best song on the album! These guys have a lot of fun on this one. The lyrics are very catchy, the guitars, drums, and DJ all blend quite well; it's one of the feel-good CD's of the year. It's a bit harder-edged than their first ("Watusi"), but if you liked that one, you'll really dig this. They cover almost the entire musical spectrum in the course of about 40 minutes, and they pull it off in spades. Sample it today; get it tomorrow. (By the way, the name "Silage" comes from Psalm 147:9, and it means "fodder for cattle".)

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Cool Album, August 4, 2000
This review is from: Vegas Car Chasers (Audio CD)
Silage has really switched sounds from their first album. They dropped the corny horn and traded it in for some good guitar-driven rock. This album has many catchy songs on it, and it's fun to listen to no matter what mood you're in. I wonder what happened to these guys? You don't hear much about them anymore...well, you'll be impressed if you do buy this one. Much better than their first CD! Oh, the song "Verb", which is introed by "Why Sure", has an AWESOME rap in it by none other than Knowdaverbs. Check it out. 4 stars.

DUDE!!! It rocks. I got it the first day it came out 'cause they're my favorite band :-) You can tell they're genuine as far as being Christians, the lyrics rock, the songs rock...what more can be said, but I can't wait 'till the next one! Good goin' guys! (I'd give you all 6 stars if I could, but ya know...)

I just saw them in concert with Audio Adrealine, and they rock. Their lyrics are cool and so is the music. I don't know much about them, but they can get to the soul with the message. Diffently a plus for everyone. Keep a going.

4.0 out of 5 stars A funky blend of styles that really works well, March 4, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Vegas Car Chasers (Audio CD)
Silage has done a fairly large change of style from their first album, Watusi. Here, the songs have a mix of funk, rap, modern rock, hip hop, and ska. It works well and sounds different for a couple of songs including Original and Why Sure but the new style isn't completely embraced. It's a really good album, check it out. Hopefully, they'll have matured the sound for their next release.

5.0 out of 5 stars I want more, October 28, 2001

First off, I have to say that I'm not the biggest fan of christian rock music, but I fell in love with this cd when i first heard it. My friend from school used to give me rides home and would play the song Original. I borrowed the cd to burn a copy of it, but for some odd reason it wouldn't burn. So I went to the store and bought it and I still don't regret it. The reason I bought the cd was the song Original, but there are lots of more good songs on it. I just wish I could find out more info about the band, see if they ever tour anymore or put out more cds. If anybody knows anything, IM me at Oldschoolandback on aol aim.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Roadtrip CD EVER!, March 28, 2001
By

I loved this cd the minute I heard it. After craving the cd based on two songs off the radio, I finally bought it and it is one of my very favorites. BILLBOARDS is so amazing lyrically (I love the sarcasm. If you do too, try listening to All Star United!) VERB is really cool, especially the way they break it down at the end. CREDIT CARD lyrically rings so true, keeps me in check! And my all time favorite: KETCHUP IS MUSTARD. How could you not love this song? Not only is it such a great and odd metaphor, it is very inspiring, and it is just plain cool to listen to. I reach for this cd more than any other I own.
