I received this cookbook for Christmas and it was instantly inspiring! I own many different vegetarian cookbooks and all of Hart's recipes are new to me, often they are revelations. Even though the recipes are complex and unique, the ingredients aren't too obscure and the instructions are easy to follow. The production of this book is amazing, from the photos to the fun vegetarian facts. Many of the recipes include variations. For instance, one simple risotto recipe is offered with several different flavor profiles for experimentation. This would be a worthy addition to any cookbook library.
this book is wonderful. everyone (vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike) that has a look at my copy rushes to buy one. the recipes are delicious and easy to make, always tasting fresh and healthy. i absolutely loved it!
I own a lot of cookbooks but usually just use them to get ideas and then kinda do my own thing, because they are sometimes too complicated or ask for a lot of ingredients. But this one is really nice, it has a picture for every dish which is really inspiring and it has a lot of great ideas. I just made the butternut squash fallafel and it turned out graet. I would reccomend this also to non-vegetarians because a lot of the stuff you can also just cook as a side dish...
Beautiful photography. It seems like the picture is like a plate you have in front of you.I have made a few recipes and I love them all. But what I love the best is some of the hand drawn recipe such as how to make yogurt, or tofu or labne etc... Very simply explained, I have started to make my own yogurt after stopping for 15 years (store bought commodity I suppose). In a nutshell I really recommend this book, if you want to fancy looking veggetarian recipies that are actually easy to cook.
I enjoy the character of this book! It isn't just recipes, but it also has information, protein equivalents, and fun facts about famous vegetarians. It's fun to browse through when friends come over for a dinner party. Some of the recipes sound like they are full meals (foccacia pizza), but when taking a closer look you realize that you'll need to eat something else with the dough, garlic, and cheese in order to have a balanced meal.
