Discusses the different motivations and special nutritional needs of vegetarians and provides instructions for preparing meatless dishes.
I've been a medical writer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for over 25 years. I've done medical articles - over 700 of the doggone things - for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Milwaukee Magazine and a wide variety of professional publications. I lost count a long time ago of how many doctors I interviewed.
But my main "claim to fame" is my extensive list of books primarily for teenagers. Most of them have some type of medical or social issue link, such as tattooing and body piercing,high-tech pregnancies, bullying, date rape and depression.
I've been retired for the last two years, not doing any professional writing at this point. But I do book editing for a variety of clients, and have done professional editing as a volunteer to raise money for my local libraries - I have to do something to keep them in books because I read at least three a week!
My other interests are theater (I confess, I'm an addict), travel and spending time with my two grandkids. My husband and I spend summers in Pewaukee, WI, a suburb of Milwaukee, and winters in Punta Gorda, FL.
You can visit my website at www.kathleenwinkler.com. I'm also on Facebook. Nothing else though - my level of sophistication with electronics is pretty low - my 10 year old grandson knows more than I do.
By the way, contrary to popular opinion, I don't have a tattoo!
