5.0 out of 5 stars Veggietales DVD - Madame Blueberry & Esther
Two of our favorites on one DVD. What a find! You'll love watching Madame Blueberry storming the new "Stuff Mart" and even cringe a little as she piles cart after cart with "stuff" she doesn't need. And "Esther", besides being witty and funny, is also aesthetically pleasing. I got to know Bob & Larry through my grandson as we watched Veggietale marathons together. There...

3.0 out of 5 stars Madame Blueberry is okay at best, Esther is wonderful
Madame Blueberry didn't do much for me. Her main joy in life is acquiring things. When she takes this to excess, her house falls over and is destroyed. She does learn her lesson, and is happier with her lot in life, but in the mean time, she's lost her home. I just didn't feel like it was up to the normal uplifting story I've become accustomed to with Veggie Tales...

5.0 out of 5 stars Veggietales DVD - Madame Blueberry & Esther, May 2, 2008
This review is from: Veggie Tales: Madame Blueberry/Esther the Girl Who Would Be Queen (DVD)
There is so much subtle humor in these witty animated productions. I think I laugh more than he does. I encourage anyone who hasn't discovered these winsome, thoughtful, timeless productions to sit down and enjoy them with their kids & grandkids. The Christian values are intrinsic & universal - never preachy - thoughtful but never heavy.

5.0 out of 5 stars The messages will stay with you for years!, October 8, 2008

We watched these when they first came out. We still call big box stores 'stuff mart' and it helps us keep perspective as we shop! These videos have great messages for kids and for parents.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Veggie, November 18, 2008
This review is from: Veggie Tales: Madame Blueberry/Esther the Girl Who Would Be Queen (DVD)
Stuff Mart is a wonderland full of everything anyone could ever want... or is it? Madame Blueberry learns that a thankful heart cannot be bought at Stuff Mart. Being thankful to God for all you have and not coveting that which you don't is a very important lesson for children to learn in these days. Veggie tales does it in a fun musical fashion that even my husband and I love. You will find yourself singing A thankful heart is a happy heart all day though!

5.0 out of 5 stars Purrfect!, January 31, 2011

This review is from: Veggie Tales: Madame Blueberry/Esther the Girl Who Would Be Queen (DVD)
Veggies Tales: Madame Blueberry/Ester the Girl Who Would Be Queen was perfect for my grandchidren. I searched the local movie vendors with no luck soooo, without a bit of snow shoveling or parking spot jockeying, I got online, clicked and picked just the right movies for my 2 and 4 yr old grandsons. These movies are great entertainment with no worries about upsetting or over stimulating little minds and hearts. Comical, light hearted fun with a very important message in each of these movies. So pop the corn and load the movies for a cozy night snuggled up with your favorite little people watching the veggie heros save the day!Veggie Tales: Madame Blueberry/Esther the Girl Who Would Be Queen

In my opinion, Madame Blueberry is one of the best Veggie Tales episodes. Esther, of course, is good too. Well worth the purchase. Especially in a day and age where materialism pulls at all of us and sometimes we just keep wanting more and more...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great christan childrens video, February 20, 2009
This review is from: Veggie Tales: Madame Blueberry/Esther the Girl Who Would Be Queen (DVD)
I just love the veggie tales for my 5 year old son and my daughter. They can watch these movies and learn great christan values without even realizing they are learning. The veggie Tales lets my kids watch them without any hursh language or violence. I know they are learning the right things. This is a really good one too.

Updating my Veggie Collection. Great you can get two for the price of one and less space. These DVD's teach the little girls and boys that God will put you in the places he wants them to be and also not to want everything there is in the world.

Madame Blueberry didn't do much for me. Her main joy in life is acquiring things. When she takes this to excess, her house falls over and is destroyed. She does learn her lesson, and is happier with her lot in life, but in the mean time, she's lost her home. I just didn't feel like it was up to the normal uplifting story I've become accustomed to with Veggie Tales.

Esther on the other hand is a great story. It is based on the Biblical story of Ester. One of the things I love about Veggie Tales is it always makes me curious enough to go back and check the details in the Bible. Yes, I've read the original story, but the details sometimes escape me. I end up wondering how much is artistic license?

They do a great job sticking to the spirit of the original story. There is a simply beautiful and inspiring song that Esther sings during the pageant to become queen, which of course she doesn't want to win, but does. As usual, there are a few funny moments and some great lines. The animation was rich with deep colors and loads of ambience. But mostly I was touch by such a powerful story.

So, unfortunately, because Madame Blueberry was not quite up to par I can only give this duo three stars.

VEGGIE TALES ARE GREAT FOR ALL AGES. MY GRANDCHILDREN STARTED TO WATCH THEM WHEN THEY WERE 3 AND THEY CONTINUE TO WATCH THEM AT 6-8-10. I AM CURRENTLY REPLACING THE TAPES WITH DVD'S. NO MATTER WHAT AGE THEY ARE YOUR CHILDREN WILL ENJOY THEM. ESPECIALLY MADAM BLUE BERRY AND THE RUMOR WEED, THEY ARE TWO OF OUR FAVORITES, AMONG THE OTHER 20 WE HAVE.
