Fun Worship CD for "kids" of all ages,
This review is from: Veggietales Worship Songs (Audio CD)
VeggieTales: WORSHIP SONGS is a nice blend of children and veggies singing many of today's modern worship songs with a few classics (from the seventies and eighties as well). Bob and Larry are temporarily taking the role of choir directors and leading the choir in rehearsing some worship songs.Songs include Come Now Is The Time To Worship written by Brian Doerkson God of Wonders written by Marc Byrd & Steve Hindalong Better Is One Day written (and performed by) Matt Redman Thy Word written by Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant Blessed Be Your Name written by Matt Redman and Beth Redman Forever written by Chris Tomlin You Put This Love In My Heart written by Keith Green I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever written by Martin Smith I Am A Promise written by Bill and Gloria Gaither In The Secret (I Want To Know You) written by Andy Park Seek Ye First written by Karen Lafferty You Are Holy written by Marc Imboden & Tammi Rhoton Matt Redman performs with Veggies on two songs: Better Is One Day and Blessed Be Your Name. The album is very enjoyable. My favorites include God of Wonders and I Am A Promise.

Worship with Your Favorite Veggies,
By Mark Baker (Santa Clarita, CA United States) - See all my reviews (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Veggietales Worship Songs (Audio CD)
The Veggies of VeggieTales have really branched out. Not only are they doing the videos, but they now produce CD's of music not available on their videos. This is one such CD, a collection of worship songs.Knowing how silly the Veggies can be at times, I worried that this might come across as irreverent. Then I remembered the Kids Praise albums of my youth. Can talking Veggies be any worse then a singing songbook? The answer is no. In fact, this CD is rather devoid of story or dialogue. Bob and Larry show up to run the choir practice for Junior and the kids at church. That's pretty much it. The CD focuses on the 12 songs with just a little dialogue between them to serve as transition. As such, it only has one or two jokes in it. But since the focus is on worshipping God, I find that appropriate. The song list looks like a collection of modern classics. We've got "God of Wonders," a calypso take on "Forever," "In the Secret," and "I Could Sing of Your Love Forever." Matt Redman shows up to lead versions of his classics "Better is One Day" and "Blessed Be Your Name." And speaking of classics, they have some true classics here. "Thy Word" and "Seek Ye First" are from my generation. The Boyz in the Sink do a version of "You Put This Love in My Heart." And we get a jazzy version of "I Am a Promise." On the whole, this is a good CD. It will appeal to kids and I could completely see myself loving it when I was a kid. And it's not annoying, so adults will enjoy it as well. Since I don't have kids, I won't be reaching for this CD first when looking for a worship CD, however.

The whole family loves this CD. How great it was to look over in church and see my 3 year old singing along - excited they were playing her Veggie Tales song in church.
