Great product. I initially had a problem with operating the charger, and Charger City quickly responded to my email and provided helpful advice to get my charger functioning properly. Overall, I was very satisfied with the customer service and the product.

I bought this charger for a Magellan 1712 GPS. I am afraid it does not charge the unit as advertized. In my case, I had to get an original charger for my unit to work again.

I'm very pleased with this power cable. The fact that it's coiled keeps the excess cord out of the way yet still provides extra length that may be needed. Since I think my last cable broke due to having to be un-kinked when very cold, the coil feature should prevent that re-occurance.

I was a bit apprehensive about ordering this item when I read several reviews that said initially the product did not work, but since they also said the customer service was very good in those cases I figured I would give it a try. I tried the item this morning - the GPS fired right up and was ready to go.

I got this when the original power cord for our RoadMate began to come apart. The original cord had an L shape with one part of the L plugging into the unit and then the cord taking a 90 degree turn. This meant that if the unit was on a flat surface or on somebody's lap there was always pressure on the bend in the cord. And sure enough, after a year or so the cord started to seperate there. This replacement cord doesn't have that bend in the cord and it seems a lot more robust then the original. It works fine so far and it is completely compatable with my unit. I just wish I had got it earlier.

***UPDATE*** Well, its been a few months and the plug in cord isn't very sturdy. After only a couple months of occasional and easy use, the plug that goes into the GPS unit is loose and I have to jiggle it in order for the connection to be made.

So far this product is holding up. Its coating is made with durable rubber and not plastic like some of the others. Which is a good sign, it won't crack up and break like cheap plastic. Compared to some others i bought. Its really hard to rate something that you only had for a month. So I can only say....so far, so good.I have no complaints.

This did not work for the Magellan 1440. It started smelling like smoke after 30 minutes of being plugged in. Do not waste your time buying this charger.

If I had to buy another one for whatever reason, I'd buy the same one.

it does what exclatly that...work, and is been working fine since day one. i will recomend this item to who ever needs one.

Second time buying this, as I misplaced the one I originally bought from the website. Received timely in perfect condition.
