Pretty easy to set up, once you figure out the strap routing. It's two straps in one,the long one secures the magnet pad, the short end holds down the rods/foam. The instructions and pics are a little fuzzy (maybe it's me that's fuzzy) but I had rods with reels secured in no time. At no time did anything come loose/rattle/slip during four hour trip at interstate speeds. Please note that four rods face forward and four backward. You can see the difference in cutout sizes in the pic, small for front end, larger for rod butt. If you transport rods with reels attached note that you need to protect your rooftop finish from contact and vibration wear, but they will fit! Simple enough to fix that issue though not a product problem. All in all, a great little product for the person with one-piece (or two piece) rods longer than your car! Works best on sedans (that's four door cars), but with a little creative thinking you can adapt it to pretty much anything. lightweight and fits back in bag too! I'm happy with mine.
