First off I have to comment about the production on this album. The last 2 albums seemed to be way too bass heavy to the point that it over takes everything else once awhile. As for the the music itself, it's not their best album, but these guys never disappoint either. I'm finding that with the softer music it's just not as interesting as their heavier music. These guys make heavy music sound like a walk in a park, it's just so good that it's easy to get into their music. As for this album, like I said before it's just not as interesting as it use to be and maybe that's because it's not as heavy or the quality of songs are not on par with their older music. For me it doesn't get better than Dedication, but Veil of Ignorance won't disappoint either.

Let me start by saying I was the one who pointed out that all the online bios (and it inevitably got amended) were wrong and that the bands name comes from a rage against the machine song called know your enemy, not killing in the name.

But I shouldn't blow my own trumpet, raised fist dont. Although I'm a massive fan of their back catalog, and it will be impossible for them to get that sound back, this is their best effort. I must admit the first few listens did not impress me as I was looking for the raised fist sound of old, pre sound of the republic (which ended for me after track 6).

There are only a couple of brutally crushing tracks here, the rest are well written showcases which display raised fist are more than a 2 bit hardcore band (not that theres anything wrong with that). Alle's vocals while still unrelenting, are more sung in many parts as opposed to the usual tom araya type ranting.

Dont think for a second this is going to be easy listening, the new drummer will force split seconds of songs to crush your tiny brain. The lyrics are as subjective as ever and these guys are still angry.

Although their back catalog hosts the most underrated hardcore albums of all time, this album is likely to become one of the most underrated albums of all time.
