Christendom has always been the "mistress of the arts." "Veil of Remembrance" is yet another exemplar of modern talent infused with deep conviction and age-old inspiration. Heavily triggered blastbeats, lightning-paced guitar and bass riffs, and guttural and screamed vocals, combine for a delightful listen. The lyrics are definitely written by persons who do not speak English as a first language. However, the awkward metaphors and more verbose passages are made up for by the lyrics' pure underlying passion and obvious love, as the Church Fathers said, of "goodness, truth and beauty" (i.e., "... the sweetness of your wine is remedy ... " rings of good sacramental poetry). Also note the reference to Kierkegaard's parable of the king who abdicates his throne for love of the common woman. Pure Scandinavian bliss. Enjoy.

I will put this simply if you are a fan of Black/Death Metal and especially if you are a fan of Undecieved era Extol buy this album. I would usually put alot of long winded words, but I will simply say this album is inventive, fresh and never boring and on top of that they are christians which is proof again christian artist can create orginial art with quality.

This is one of the best Black/Death metal albums I have ever heard. Crimson Moonlight uses blast beats coupled with ever so subtle melodies to melt your face! Pilgrim has a range to his vocals that is becoming more and more rare in the genre these days. My favorite songs on this album are Intimations of Everlasting Constancy, The Echoes of Thought, The Cold Grip of Terror, and Contemplations Along the Way. Anyone who likes either Death metal or Black metal should not even hesitate to pick this album up.

I'm not a good reviewer, so I'll just tell you, if you've heard good things about this CD they were right. This is a perfectly designed bit of dark, righteous, auditory, fury that maintains an air of haunting beauty between the sensory onslaught. 5 outta 5. Buy this, you won't regret it.
