All entries will be revised according to modern American standard usage (for English) and Latin American standard usage (for Spanish). The English-Spanish section will include a simulated pronunciation and also include a simulated international pronunciation. The Spanish-English section will include the Spanish pronunciation as it applied to the English language. All entries will begin with small case lettering and irregular verbs will be included and their tenses will have appropriate entries in the main text of the dictionary.

The New Velazquez Spanish and English Dictionary is the best bilingual dictionary I've ever used. It's richness, in depth presentation of nouns, adjectives and verbs, its selection of examples, local and common expresions, pronunciation, presentation and format, etc., they all make this dictionary to standout by itself among the rest. I strongly recommend it to anyone for business, college or home. This is a Mr. Bilingual Dictionary! The price at Amazon.com is fair. The value of the book its unlimited. Really a piece of jewelry! Este diccionario, renovado y puesto al dia por Mariano Velazquez de la Cadena, quien fuera Profesor de Español en la Universidad de Columbia, es, a mi juicio, la obra mas sobresaliente en su categoria. Este es un diccionario sin par, con una increible y acertada riqueza de vocabulario contenida en una encuadernacion esmerada y cuidadosa. La calidad de sus paginas es excelente, y el hecho de ser el mas exhaustivo y avanzado trabajo de referencia que hasta nuestros dias yo haya visto, todo esto en conjunto, hacen de esta obra de referencia bilingue una obra fundamental y un verdadero clasico. Por lo demas, su precio es bastante razonable. Le invito a que lo compre y lleve a su casa, a su oficina, a cualquier sitio en que se vea precisado a buscar una palabra o una frase que la ejemplifique. No se arrepentira. Se lo aseguro!

Nowadays I find myself look up words online more often then checking my hardcover dictionary. It is fast and costs me nothing. Buying a dictionary seems less important.

Velazquez Spanish and English Dictionary have a support website called AskVelazquez.com. It is free, and I can ask questions, either for the new words that I can't find in the dictionary or grammar issues when I do the translation. I find this site very useful, and it makes my Velazquez Dictionary even more useful.

Velazquez Spanish and English Dictionary also contain words from not just Spain and Mexico, but usages from Puerto Rico, Peru or Argentina. It is a very complete reference dictionary. I only wish there is an electronic version.

I found this dictionary at my local Barnes & Nobles. I heard of Velazquez dictionary before but have never use it. I compared it with Oxford, VOX and Harper Collins; Velazquez has more entries and it costs less. Many words I couldn't find at others, I could find them at Velazquez.

It's a bargain to buy this dictionary at Amazon because my local Barnes & Nobles charges $26.95 plus tax.
