Light, but sturdy and a good height,

This review is from: Velbon UP-43 Deluxe Professional Compact Photographic/Video Unipod (Electronics)
I have the black version of this monopod, the RUP-43. I bought it after carefully examining many other monopods from Slik, Manfroto, Etsumi and Velbon in a store.I usually prefer collar-type leg locks over the clip type used in the UP-43, but nothing could beat this model in terms of height to weight ratio and value for money, so I made an exception. The ball head looks a little on the small side, but it copes perfectly well with my medium format TLR and SLR cameras as well as my 35mm SLR. The UP-43 extends up to 1637mm long, collapses down to 530mm, weighs 437g, and can support cameras up to 2kg. My only gripe is that the ball head is not removable. |
