I bought 5 of these solar cells in order to complete a solar charger I made for a 6-volt battery. I connected them appropriately so now I have 6 volts with 600mA. The solar cells are lightweight and live up to their specifications. The choices of inter-connecting them are endless, either you want more "amps" or more higher voltage, so go ahead and experiment with them. Have fun!!!!

This item is "encapsulated" only in the sense that it is in a non-sealed plastic box. The lid was partially popped off of mine on receipt and much to my dismay, the solar cells are mounted inside to a piece of thin black cardboard by double faced tape. To me, encapsulated should mean that the cells are set in epoxy or something like that. While the cells do work, they are extremely fragile and humidity will eventually cause swelling of the cardboard and breakage of the cells, which are extremely thin and brittle. Do yourself a favor and find a solar cell that is properly coated with a protective coating. Double faced tape on cardboard in a flimsy box is embarrassing. This is a toy and not a product that should be used for anything that will ever see any kind of moisture.
