5.0 out of 5 stars This lot is good, December 30, 2004
This review is from: Velocity DVD+R 8X 4.7GB (25-Spindle) (Electronics)
As Amazon changes prices so frequently, I must write cost
factor first.
I bought 4 x $4.99/spindle=$19.96 for 100 discs
which was much cheaper than buying 100 spindle at $29.99.
(I bought 100 at 32.00 before:Disc ID MCC-003-00. Burned
about 30 discs via Nero, DVD Decrypter. Printed by Casio CW50
So far 1 coaster)

Second: Disc ID OPTODISC OPTODISC-OR8-00

So far I burned 5 discs.
Burned by Nero and DVD Decrypter
Burned at x4 x6 x8
Disc Verification all passed
Does it play? Played on Philips DVP642, Apex, Sony, Pioneer
as well as on Computers ( Dell, HP)
No Coasters yet. (5 discs burned out of 25 spindle)

Surface: Plain Shiny Silver
Perfect for Printing by Casio CW-50

5.0 out of 5 stars Works GREAT with Lite-On SOHW-1633S 16X DL Burner !, February 8, 2005
This review is from: Velocity DVD+R 8X 4.7GB (25-Spindle) (Electronics)
Like others, I was also a bit apprehensive when I bought the 25-pack to try out. I have a Lite-On SOHW-1633S 16X Dual Layer DVD burner and these discs are working great with my burner. I usually get 1 coaster for every 6 or 7 discs that I burn and with this even that has not been the case ! The Media ID for these are OptoDisc and it really doesn't matter what the brand name is as long as your burner likes the discs !

These are the nuggets that I learnt from burning 200+ DVD's
* Expensive brand name does NOT mean a better quality. It's the MEDIA ID that matters ! (Media ID for the disc can be found from the DVD burning software)
* 1 coaster for every 8-10 discs burnt is a very good success rate !
* Keep your burner updated with the latest firmware !
* Check out the media reviews at www.cdr-zone.com/reviews/dvd_media_reviews to see what media works best with your burner
* Don't pay higher for a faster media (especially when burning movies since it's the average speed that matters)
* Have patience and don't get frustrated ! :)

Good luck and remember it's the media id that matters, NOT the brand name !

5.0 out of 5 stars these are decent disc made by optodisc, January 5, 2005
This review is from: Velocity DVD+R 8X 4.7GB (25-Spindle) (Electronics)
i make decent copies using my NEC 2500A AND BENQ 800A. Hey SAM, sell the rest of your spindles to me. i'm serious!
These may not be the best but it also depends what burner is being used to burn them. i burned 150 discs and so far no coasters
