This review is from: Velocity DVD-R 4X 4.7GB Inkjet White Printable (100-Spindle) (Electronics)
I ordered the 100 stack and have burned and ink jet printed about 50 so far. Every single one has worked on all three of my DVD, stand alone, players. I was really expecting the worst, so I am more than pleasantly surprised. In the past I've only used Verbatim because they were the only ones that worked consistently.
I used several different media formats, (avi, mpg, wmv in different sizes) imported 5 vidoes into MyDVD, added a customized, animated menu with music (real compatibility intense DVD burning) and every one worked. I'm so excited. Finally ink jet printable DVD media I can actually afford to use for my business. I intend on purchasing a lot more

Recently received my first 100-spindle and have burned about half of them so far without a single mishap. The print surface provides a quality profectional look that far exceeded my expectations. I've burned to two different burners (internal and external) without a glitch. The only rejects have been mistakes made on my part. Don't throw them away! They make great print testers.

This discs are just great! I think you must search in forums before buying them to check if they will burn OK with your DVD Burner, also please guys have the LATEST firmware on your DVD Burners to ensure it will burn/read the newest DVD media out there.
I am burning them flawlessly with a NEC DVD Burner (ND-2510A), this discs play just fine in my Philips DVD Player (DVP-642) burning at 4X, 6X and 8X. I used DVD Identifier to extract the following results: Unique Disc Identifier: [DVD-R:MCC 01RG20] Manufacturer Name: [Mitsubishi Chemical Corp.] Blank Disc Capacity: [2,298,496 Sectors = 4,489.3MB = 4.38GB (4.71GB)] And if this is not interesting enough, I'll tell you several brands that sell the same media as this one, as their discs have the same Unique Disc Identifier (extracted from videohelp.com): 3t PRO Apple Bulkpaq Edgetec Hawk Professional Imation Intenso Memorex Mitsubishi MMore Msonic Prodisc Six Sony Velocity Verbatim (DataLifePlus) Verbatim DigitalMovie Hope this is really helpful. Know you need to do some research before stating this media is bad.

This media takes ink from the R200 dye-based inks quite well- colours are accurate (After profiling) and seem somewhat light fast.
Unfortunately this media is completely unusable in my Onkyo DVD player. I've tried a good burn on different types- some get 1/2 way thru before problems crop up, but this Velocity media fails miserably. The code for this media is (DVDInfoPro) 00000000 00 6C 00 00 01 40 C1 FD 9E D8 52 00 02 85 0D 10 .l...@....R..... 00000010 88 9A 80 00 03 4F 50 54 4F 44 49 00 04 53 43 52 .....OPTODI..SCR 00000020 30 30 38 00 05 88 80 00 00 00 02 00 06 09 0D 13 008............. Be warned: Priced attractively, but may not be suitable for your DVD player.

Highly recommended, good price for printable discs,

I ordered my second spinde. The first 100 piece spindle had no bad discs. I can't say that about the printable TDK discs I tried. I've used these discs in my PC burner at 4X and in both my Pioneer and Panasonic set top DVD recorders. The printable area is larger than the printable area on the TDK. I had to use the inner diameter over-ride on the Epson R200 printing software to cover the full printable material

Not Hub Printable,

I have printed about half of the spindle so far with out any errors. I took off one star because they are not Hub Printable. I did not know what that meant when I bought them. It means you can't print to the center of the disk. So, you end up with a large part of the image missing. But If that doesn't matter, they are a lot cheaper than the Verbatim DVD-R 4.7GB 8X DataLifePlus White Inkjet Printable, Hub Printable 50pk Spindle. I rate them 5 Stars.

Excellent to Print on DVD Labels,

This item works great.Burnt till now 25, no problems. I like printing on DVD which was the main reason to buy. The R200 Printer I got prints nicely on the DVD. I would have given 5 stars if the Print surface had glossy finish. I think they may come in the next release(Glossy type). So i advice everyone to buy this printable DVD blanks and Keep your DVD Looks good and organized. I don't bother much about DVD Type or Write Speed, as faster you write on DVD chancees of more errors and the type(-/+) doesn't matter as i play all my DVD's on a Cheap($30 ESA Player) does the job.

Blank DVDs At A Great Price,

These are well-accepted by my Sony DVD+/-RW drive, and I burn on 6x when putting ISO images of my movies to disc. Not a single disc gave me a problem, and I've just ordered my second stack of 100. I'm in the U.S, and these DVD-R discs are easily read in my computer and my Symphonic DVD/CD player.
These are okay to write on with a thin, permanent marker (note that the purple side is the bottom). But because they are basically brandless, do take good care of them (don't get your prints all over/don't scuff/don't expose to heat or cold/don't leave them in your car, etc). Excellent discs for backing up your video collection. If you're looking to burn DVDS and you don't want to make a large investment, definitely try these. |
