The Impact-12 down-firing port design maximizes bass performance and output, while limiting any noise cause by air moving the port, maintaining musical accuracy and dynamic impact.

Superior Quality Drivers

Impact drivers are designed with massive magnets and 2-inch copper-wound voice coils to precisely match their MDP Amplifiers, maximizing the bass output and the bass extension of each subwoofer. The Impact Series long-throw excursion and high power handling capabilities allow these subwoofers to play deeper and louder than similarly priced products. Powerful magnet structures and costly voice coils quickly dissipate excess heat for exceptional reliability.

The Impact-12 subwoofer uses a highly efficient MDP amplifier for floor-shaking bass. Unlike competitive IC amp designs, the dynamic MDP amplifier generates more reserve power to accurately reproduce the most critical bass information. The durable MDP amp is engineered with two unique protection circuits to insure long-term reliability. These "green" amplifiers are engineered to use less electricity to produce their amazing output.

I have owned a Klipsch LF-10 sub, Velodyne HGS-12 sub, Paradigm PW-2200 sub. and a Velodyne DD-15 subwoofer. I purchased this subwoofer because of my experience with Velodyne subwoofers. This sub. was a terrific addition to my sons Klipsch HT-500 / Yamaha Reciever combo. purchased for my sons room. The Velodyne easily tripled the bass output and quality over the base subwoofer that Klipsch sells with the HT-500 set.
I'm amazed at how clean, powerful and HUGE the presence of sound is now that we added the Velodyne Impact 12" to the mix. Just a couple of days ago, I ordered the Velodyne DEQ-12R to add to the set-up. My sons room already impacts the entire house with authority, I can't wait to hear and feel the system once the other Velodyne sub gets here. The Klipsch, Yamaha and Velodyne set-up is nothing short of astonishing. You would truely have to see those tiny satelites while listening to the sound coming from them and the velodyne.
If you want bass with a solid impact and with very clean sound but don't have alot to spend on a subwoofer, buy this sub. It really is the very best subwoofer I have heard and felt compared to subs costing twice as much. I do think that the sub could use a better low bass extension for movies but it is tuned for high output with a low bass extension of 29 hz. Overall it is the very best bang for the buck with solid clean bass that lives up to it's name, Impact!

I really like the velodyne quality. I have had one impact 12 for a few years in my media room. I just decided to upgrade my living room so I got rid of the Bose and went with another impact 12. I would have given it five stars but this product wasn't working out of the box. When I opened the speaker box I found that velodyne hadn't connected the speaker inside of the box. Other than that it is still a great product. I stand by this brand.

I've had this sub in my living room for about 4 or 5 months now, and I'm still amazed at the sound quality. Granted - it's not quite as accurate as the much higher priced Velodyne servo-driven subs, but for the money it can't be beat.
It reproduces the really low frequencies just as accurately as the higher frequencies, and the response is smooth across the entire band. I have it crossed over at about 100hz.
One of my friends was so impressed with the sound quality, that he bought one to replace the Sony sub that came with his theater system.
