4.0 out of 5 stars Didn't think I'd need it...Cannot live without it!
I registered for one of these things, but did not get it. So I went to the store and bought it for myself...after the baby was a couple of weeks old. I don't even breastfeed...but use it in bed when feeding at night to keep her upright. And I put her in it in her play gym. I was really down on these things and thought they were stupid, but I have really come to love...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great All Around GREAT PILLOW but better alternatives exist for nursing aid...
Don't get me wrong. I love my boppy but if I had to rate it as a nursing aid (which I am doing so in this review), I would say it leaves much to be desired. When I first bought the boppy, I thought it was god's gift to moms. My son was a premie who learned to bottle feed first. I spent 3 weeks trying to teach him to breast feed. 3.0 out of 5 stars Great All Around GREAT PILLOW but better alternatives exist for nursing aid..., August 22, 2005

I bought the boppy and nearly cried in happiness because of the help and support it gave me. However, I own both the boppy and "my brest friend" nursing pillow. If you can afford both, get both. If you are looking for a great nursing aid, nothing can touch the "brest friend". Otherwise, I can see the potential of the boppy reading other reviews. It's got soo many uses as an all around pillow and I have to admit my husband and I fight over this pillow just because it's the most comfy pillow for taking a nice nap. The reason why I prefer the "brest friend" over the boppy:
1) Support: Boppy, unless you are sitting with your legs straight out, caves in towards the center where your belly button and the baby's belly is. I think it's uncomfortable for the baby. Brest friend is VERY FIRM support with raised pillows for the babys head on either side of your breasts. You can't see the "pillows". YOu have to run your hands over the pillow to feel it.
2) Ledge width: The Boppy is essentially a cylinder curved in a U shape. There isn't that much space for the baby to lie on. The brest friend is a wide flat surface. Plenty of space for baby and for me to squeeze on a cup and the remote control.
3) Valley: Because the boppy is a cylinder that's curved, there is a valley that forms between your belly and the boppy itself. My baby tends to fall in, get his leg stuck and it's not very comfortable. The brest friend forms a perfect right angle with your belly. Yet at the same time, this valley is a great for snuggling the baby while watching TV and making sure he doesn't move.
What I do like about the Boppy over the brest friend is that it sells spare slipcovers which the Brest Friend doesn't.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love it!!!, March 16, 2005
This review is from: Velour Boppy Nursing Pillow - green (Baby Product)
I am still nursing my second son, 9 months, and I love my boppy!! I received the boppy as a gift from my husband when I was in the hospital trying to nurse my first son. For us it have become indespensable. My husband even uses it to give the baby bottles!!

I would buy the bare naked one and several covers though. They do get dirty easily but the covers are pretty easy to wash!!

5.0 out of 5 stars What can't be done with the Boppy?, April 7, 2005
This review is from: Velour Boppy Nursing Pillow - green (Baby Product)
This was the best thing I received for my shower. First of all, I used it immediately on myself after coming home from the hospital. I used it to sit on to take the pressure off of my stitched area. I could sit on the couch, in the bed and at the kitchen table without needing any medication..THANKS BOPPY!!
As for my son, I use it for him to sleep on while I'm doing housework. I prop it on the couch and lay him in the middle on his side, which adjusts to the perfect size for him. He sleeps like a BABY!
Next, I use it when I feed him. I breastfed and went to bottles later. It was/is perfect for both.
I use it to lay him it after he eats so I can talk to him and he can explore the world.
I use it sometimes when he is doing tummy time.
I use it for my nieces so they can hold him without having to wear their arms down since they are only 5 and 7.
I have several more, but those are the main points. I would buy it over and over again if anything ever happened to my Boppy.
Also, I wash the slip cover many times, and it is standing strong. I have only had to wash the pillow a few times, but it still looks brand new.
BOPPY GETS MY "CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT" VOTE...A+++++++++++++
***UPDATE...It also helped with my son sitting up. I would place it around him so he wouldn't get hurt if he would fall over. It keeps going and going and going...

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE IT, March 7, 2005
This review is from: Velour Boppy Nursing Pillow - green (Baby Product)
I absolutely love the Boppy! I didn't register for it because I didn't see the point of spending money on another pillow. BUT my sister bought it for me when I was having trouble breastfeeding. I have used it every day since! My daughter was congested as a newborn and it elevated her head enough to take countless naps. Now that she is 5 months old, it helps her sit. I even still use it to bottle feed my daughter. I just lay her across the pillow so I have one hand free. Spills wipe right off the Luxe material but I do recommend having at least one spare cover.

3.0 out of 5 stars Im a big Boppy fan but..............., December 27, 2004
This review is from: Velour Boppy Nursing Pillow - green (Baby Product)
Boppys can get dirty easy (breastmilk, formula can stain) and I have found that owning a boppy is easier and better on the wallet to buy the bare naked boppy and then buying the various slipcovers for it. its a nice change and its so much easier to wash. I have owned the baby bees boppy and then after it was damaged in the washer a friend bought me the bare naked boppy and I love that one so much better the cleaning is so much easier and the neat thing is there are alot of boppy slipcover prints (different baby stores carry different prints)

The ones that carry boppy slipcovers are Babies r us, Target, Baby Depot and Toysrus.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nursing moms need a boppy, November 23, 2004
By
This review is from: Velour Boppy Nursing Pillow - green (Baby Product)
The boppy makes it easier to position baby's head when nursing, and gives your arm some relief. My 3 week old daughter seems perfectly comfortable leaning on the boppy while nursing, or during burping. Can also be used to prop up baby later on, as they try to sit up. I have already washed the boppy cover, and have had no problem with shrinkage (mashine wash cold, and air-dry it). Bottom line - get the boppy - you'll be glad you did.

This is an excellent pillow to use whether breast or bottle feeding. I used the boppy five years ago with my first born, and again with my one month old son for breastfeeding. This Boppy is also more convenient due to its removable/washable cover w/c is soo0 smooth and comfortable foe baby's skin. I highly recommend this product as a must have for all new moms out there!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product!, June 24, 2005

I love this pillow and even take it with me for weekend trips! The removable cover is a must - we've already had one diaper "blow-out" and a few burping accidents which were easily cleaned up by throwing the cover in the wash. If you live in a two story house I would recommend getting two - one for upstairs and one for downstairs. I'm nursing and use it for every feeding.

5.0 out of 5 stars You'll love the diversity of this pillow!, February 22, 2005
This review is from: Velour Boppy Nursing Pillow - green (Baby Product)
After the birth of my son, I used this pillow immediately upon return from the hospital. My bottom was too sore to just plop down on a chair or sofa, so I used it to sit on like a donut. I used it around my waist for breastfeeding to prop up the baby and my arms, and even used it a little later when he was starting to sit up. It is a great investment for a minimal amount of money. My mom even bought one to keep at her house when I came over with the baby to visit! Keep one upstairs and downstairs or even with you in the car. My only advice is get one with a cover so you can take it off and wash it occasionally. I've ordered one already for my little girl due in May!
