I have been a soulfood76 fan from their humble beginnings from shows in their house to independent releases. I can't give enough props to these fellas for their persistence and their awesome music, there just aren't enough new revolution funk bands around but these fellas do all they can to make up for that. RIP soulfood76

The music is not tight and the vocals are odd. They like to rock instead of groove.

I just love this album, is very original and has great lyrics. Anyone who loves classic rock style music or an active bass should defiantly check them out!

One of my favorite "alternative/funk" albums of all time is Soulfood '76 Original Soundtrack. This album I've listened to a bit less, but they still rock. I had to write a review due to the previous reviewer who critized the vocals. D. Fairbanks has extremely distinguishable vocals which stand out in a sea of mundane efforts! In fact, his vocals are one of the primary reasons I love this band and I just can't imagine changing them! It'd be like Nirvana without Kurt, Wilco without Jeff, or Beck without Beck - it just wouldn't be Soulfood '76!!!! Most of the vocalist I've mentioned would never succeed in a band like Journey or on a TV show like American Idol, but these guys have unique voices which make them stand far ahead of any polished singer!!!!! In addition to the vocals, the music is absolutely first rate, great sound on the drums with a "retro" feel, great guitar riffs and great guitar tone with just enough "fuzz" and even the bass lines are memorable.

i love soulfood '76. lead singer daniel fairbanks has many talents with which God is using him, his voice....is hard to get around. i don't hate his vocals...i want to hug him and say..good effort. but to be honest, the vocals are the weak link in this band. there are some heavy thunderous moves in the music, and I give 4 stars for that, daniel is up to bigger things these days...go check out his website at http://www.danielfairbanks.com i will always love soulfood, but i can't 100% recommend this to the hardcore funk/rock fan.

The first time I heard Soulfood, I thought they were kind of wierd, but now , I can't get enough of them. The Driving bass is so cool and the guitars, everything is just awesome!!!!!

Ever since I first heard Soulfood, I've wanted more. They have an amazing feel to all of their music yet still manage to greatly vary their style from track to track. This is the kind of music you just can't sit still to.

Christian funk? What an idea!,

Christian music is not strictly Southern Gospel and pop rock, that's for sure. But 70s funk music? Who would have thought? This CD is fresh groove with basslines that make you move. You have GOT to hear these guys!

i've seen soulfood live as many times as i've been to the dentist. let's face it, they rock with funkalicious domination. BUT. their CD is garbage in comparison. it is very poorly made and because of that doesn't show the real talent that God has given those guys. it just doesn't cut it.
