Good for Beginners,

This review is from: The Vending Jackpot: How to Build and Manage Your Own Profitable Vending Business (Paperback)
I discovered this book through the Vending Jackpot website and after reading the first chapter preview, I couldn't resist, I had to read the rest of it. This book is a very quick and easy read and it can definitely get the rookie vending operator off to a good start. The author includes a lot of helpful advice on how to start a business, how to find good locations, how to operate your business effectively, and a handful of other tips. This book certainly helped me get my vending business off the ground.
The reason this book does not get 5 stars: If you are a highly educated person, this author's writing style may frustrate you. Ronnie Talent clearly did not get a college degree in written rhetoric, and it shows. The book is chocked full of unecessary, cheesy cartoon pictures that one might expect to find in a child's coloring book. That, along with his writing voice makes this book seem as though he was targeting an audience of 5th graders. If you're into that kind of literature, this is your book. I understand, some people like that kind of writing because it keeps things very simple. I'm just saying, if you want something a little more intellectually stimulating, look elsewhere.

Simple Very Simple,

I read The vending Jackpot and my first thought was this book is truly for vending novices. (im not a novice) It didnt get me upset because i like simple reading! The book mainly encourages people to get started with the easiest form of vending on the planet, bulk vending! I say take the authors advice if you are scared to lose money on larger investments such as drink machines, jukeboxes, etc. Also always watch out for scams. They come in all types from scam financing, to selling bad ideas, to companies that change their phone number so dissatisfied customers cant reach them! By the way "Vending SUccess Secrets" by BILL WAY (AT AMAZON.COM) is a lot better and more in-depth

I just received my book today and I quickly browsed through the book. I was so happy, the format is so easy and fun and really keeps you interested in whats next in each chapter. Great book for the beginner and also so much insight into the world of vending. Another plus about this book is that the author gives out company names, addresses, phone #'s etc. for supplies, machines, etc. Would recommend this book definitely.

The title should be, BUSSINESS PLANS FOR DOPES, along with a brief over view on vending,
This review is from: The Vending Jackpot: How to Build and Manage Your Own Profitable Vending Business (Paperback)
I was very disappointed at how little time the author spent on how to personally find money making locations for your machines. Especially when all of the experts emphasize this to be one of the hardest parts of the business. He spends one vague chapter on this and then has the nerve to say, "Pay Attention. This is probably the most important chapter to this book." After that, the rest of the book talks about information that I have in lots of other books that are much more detailed and better written. For instance, how to write a business plan, business financing, how to incorporate etc. I'm sorry but I wouldn't have bought a book with over 200 pages to find out that half of it is spent on novice stuff like this! I am sure that many of you potential readers have already operated a business before ,like myself, and are already educated on different types of loans and business entities. This is the worst "how to book" I have ever read. I am also shocked at how many of you said it was helpful. Yikes! Can anybody out there recommend a much much better one?

My wife and I decided that we wanted to go into the vending business. We searched high and low and stumbled across this book. This is an excellent book especially if you do not know anything about the vending business. Ronnie walks you through every step of the way. If it is not in the book then you can email him and it is less than a 12-hour turn around service. He will answer any question that you have and is professional about the whole thing no matter if you are a novice to having been in the business for over 10 yrs. He grabs your attention from the first page. You can go to his website and download chapter1 for free. He saved my wife and I $1000s buy learning the tricks of the trade. Read his book first before going into business for yourself. Ask as many questions as you want. Just that alone is worth the money. It is like a personal teacher guiding you every step of the way.

If you're thinking about vending, you'll want to read this. Just the chapter on how to get machines for 1/2 price or less has saved me over $5000, and I was able to grow the business faster. It does focus on candy and gum, but truthfully- I can see why-Now I see that's where the money is!You'll really save a lot of time and money, I did. BTW, he also has CD's on his website that are good too.

What happened after chapter 13?,

This book on vending started very well. Lot's of examples and details though mainly on bulk vending which the author had the most experience. For some reason starting on chapter 13 it becomes obvious that the author is taking very generic personal finance information from other sources and simply creating chapters out of it. All in all it felt like I only got 1/2 of a book!

It doesn't cover all types of vending, but it covers the two most important things-how to get machines really cheap(this works- I saved hundreds of dollars last month trying this method)and how to get good locations. He has audio stuff too, but I haven't seen it on Amazon. Its on his website and on the Vendingcash website. If you are going to go into vending it's worth it to buy this before you buy machines.

The Vending Jackpot,
This review is from: The Vending Jackpot: How to Build and Manage Your Own Profitable Vending Business (Paperback)
It's a quick and easy read on vending but is rather elementary in it's approach and advice. Perfect for a first step for the truly unfamiliar.

I have 14 machines , and I'm telling you- this book tells the truth. It's basic, and written in simple terms, but if you do the things in this book, you can be successful in vending. I would have saved money if I had read this book when I got started. FWI- I think there's audio CD's for this somewhere...I think Ronnie Talent has a website.
