full of info., but poorly put together,

This review is from: Vending Success Secrets - How Anyone Can Grow Rich In America's Best Cash Business! (Paperback)
As someone interested in starting a vending business, I found that there is a huge lack of information about the business - the types of vending, the How's, Why's, the money, everything. Bill Way's book is just about the only good resource you can find, and it's only 'Okay' at best! This book is frustrating in that it's basic, while being too 'dense' to make sense. The pages are put together in the WORST example of graphical layout I've ever seen. You'll be reading, following a column down, and realize it no longer makes sense! Oh!, they jumped over to the NEXT column and continued!! Good as a re-reference book, but possibly a bit too expensive for what you get... the only reason I rate it so highly is because it's just about the only thing out there to get you started. Unfortunately, he also spends a lot of time in the book promoting his website....

Good Info...But,

This book has some good information for those thinking about vending. It will answer a lot of beginner questions. Just don't make it your only book before jumping in - check out newsgroups, online resources etc...It is cleary self published and has not been cleaned up by a professional editor - a little hard to read at times. Bill also has some philosophies / morals I would disagree with, and *almost* states: "Start vending - it is cash only - don't pay taxes" He also promotes his business of selling vending equipment in the book a little too much. He may have great prices and service (I don't know), but he should not have mixed all the Ads in with the meat of the book. Just my .02

Good info in a biased package,
By Chad Blanchard (Seattle, Washington, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Vending Success Secrets - How Anyone Can Grow Rich In America's Best Cash Business! (Paperback)
The author clearly knows what he's talking about. Unfortunately, the author uses this book as a tool to advance his own business. Intermixed with the solid information about the vending machine industry are repeated sales pitches recommending that the reader deal primarily with the author's company. New vending machine owners should read this book with a critical eye. Having said that, this is the best, most cost effective book on the topic I have found.

This book reads like an infomercial. It is loaded with ideas and information that I thought were obvious to anyone who has put any thought into vending. Also, I found the repeated (and I mean REPEATED) plugs for the author's vending machine reselling and locating service to be irritating. Virtually all of the examples in the book make comparisons between using another companies machines or services and using the author's machines and service. Can you guess who's were always better? To ice the cake, there are order forms at the end to purchase equipment from the manufacturer! I did manage to find a few interesting ideas in the book, however I think most were unintentional. This is not worth half of what it costs and I am being generous. Check out the books website to evaluate the contents for free. What makes America great is that you are free to have your own opinion. Mine is that this is a pamphlet of obvious ideas and shameless self promotion bloated into a book.

Excellent overview of the industry!,

This book helped me decide what type of vending I wanted to get involved with. I followed many of Bill Way's recommendations and purchased 26 bulk vending machines. After only two month's in business, I'm on track to to net a nice secondary income. I would recommend reading this book several times before you invest in a vending business.

Real Hands on Tips,

I bought bulk vending machines after buying Mr. Way's book. He really helps you with buying the right machines and obtaining good locations. He also helps you avoid the "Business Op Scams" so common when buying your machines. I would recommend this to anyone thinking about a vending route.

It TOOK the author 5 chapters to GET INTO what vending is actually about. The FIRST 5 chapters were about SELF PROMOTION of HIS company which HE MENTIONS about THREE times per page (an exaggeration but WAY TOO much). LOTS of grammar errors and the TEXT WAS very hard to follow. The book has TWO columns and SOMETIME YOU READ THE entire left column first BUT sometimes ONLY halfway down the page. THE MOST annoying thing is that he puts TOO many words in CAPS. VERY hard to read. Not to mention the book is dated from the early 2000's. The pricing calls for stuff in vending machines (such as candy bars) selling for $0.55 per... when was the last time you purchased anything out of a vending machine for 55 cents? Save your money and buy a different book.

One big sales pitch--awful,

This book is horribly written and the author is doing nothing but promoting his company which SELLS vending machines. Give me a break. I want my $25 back. How can you believe anything he says, when all he is trying to do is sell you a machine the whole time? Don't waste your money on this book. It's awful.

This book not only reads like an infomercial, but a bad one at that. At least put some useful information rather then one poorly written advertisement.
