5.0 out of 5 stars TAUT WRITING, GREAT ACTION!
I recently finished reading Vengence, the first Ian St. James book I've read. It's a gripping story--not too far fetched--about the inside positioning inside large corporations, especially those owned by family members,
St. James hooks you with an erotic, visual opening and from there, like a blossoming flower, the story begins to unfold.

1.0 out of 5 stars TEDIOUS, EXCEPTIONALLY BORING BOOK
As a reader of everything from James Joyce to Stephen King, this book has to be in the bottom ten of everything I've ever read. The story is sooo far-fetched. The plot always conveniently turns the way the main character would like it to. And, there is about 200 pages of superflous material involving the political climate in Greece that should be left out entirely -...

Intertwining first person, narrative and third person writing styles, St. James paints portraits rich in detail, yet without boring the reader.

If you work for a large corporation...or a growing family owned business---read VENGENCE---it's guaranteed to keep you awake!

5.0 out of 5 stars A real page turner, June 22, 2002

This book caught my interest from the moment I picked up the book, until the last page when you find out what kind of "Vemgeance" the main character is planning. It is a fast read, but if you like novels similiar to a Jeffrey Archer or Sidney Sheldon type of story then you will definately not be disappointed

As a reader of everything from James Joyce to Stephen King, this book has to be in the bottom ten of everything I've ever read. The story is sooo far-fetched. The plot always conveniently turns the way the main character would like it to. And, there is about 200 pages of superflous material involving the political climate in Greece that should be left out entirely - it really makes no difference to the main storyline.

The characters are unbelievable, let alone the plot. I ended up skimming through much of the book after the first 100 pages. This is a Harlequin romance for wannabe MBA's. Thank God I didn't buy this book!
