Hope Clarke's latest literary contribution, the sequel to Not With
My Son, takes a sinister look at what can happen with unrequited
love. In VENGEANCE IS MINE we are catapulted into Michelle's world
where the story begins near the mid point of her twenty-year prison
sentence as she anxiously awaits a parole hearing. She has a
daughter that is ten years old and she has never been allowed to
see. She has had time to methodically plan the destruction of the
one person she once cared about but feels has deserted her on more
than one occasion. She wants revenge and wants it in a big way.

Since obtaining custody of his daughter, Chris Walker has become a
model father to Ashley. Aware that Michelle's possible parole could
cause problems, he starts to think about the things that matter now,
getting his family together. Chris has fallen in love with Simone,
the case worker that helped him obtain custody of Ashley. Simone
has also fallen in love with Chris and thinks of Ashley as her
daughter, but she has a dark secret that threatens her happiness.
The decision of the Parole Board throws everyone's life into a
tailspin.

In Michelle, Ms. Clarke has put a face on the phrase "a woman
scorned." In her very heart rendering and chilling page-turner, I
could feel Michelle's rage coming off the pages as well as the
unconditional love Chris felt for Simone and his daughter. Can
their love survive the havoc that Michelle will wreak? This book
had enough twists and turns to keep me on the edge of my seat. It
contained it all, love, sex, suspense, drama, compassion and a hefty
dose of wickedness. The combination made for a good book.

This book was a very good follow up to Not With My Son. The only problem I had with the book was some of the grammar was incorrect which kept throwing me off. Some of it was written in present tense and then some of it was in past tense. Other than that, Vengence is Mine was a very interesting read.

THIS AUTHOR WAS RECOMMEDED TO ME BY A FRIEND SHE SAID I HAD TO READ ALL 3 BOOKS SO I READ NOT WITH MY SON AND NOW I AM READING VENGEANCE IS MINE AND I MUST SAY ITS BEEN A GET YOUR TEA AND LEAVE ME ALONE TIME FOR ME THAT MEANS HOPE HAD ME CAPTURED AND THAT IS A GOOD THING. ALSO I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR HAVING VEGEANCE IS MINE FOR ORDER THE PRICE WAS GREAT I HAVE INVITED SEVERAL OF MY GIRLS TO GO ON YOUR WEBSITE TO REVIEW YOUR STOCK AND I WILL FOREVER BE GREATFULL TO MY DAUGHTER FOR REMINDING ME TO VISIT AMAZON.COM I CAN NOW SAY ITS A FAMILY THING.

I READ THESE BOOKS A LONG TIME AGO AND CANT GET THEM OFF MY MIND NOTHING CAN COMPARE.I COULD NOT PUT THEM DOWN I FOUND MY SELF READING AT THE READ LIGHT A DIFINITE PAGE TURNER, ALTOUGH I WASNT TO HAPPY ABOUT PART 3 BUT PTS 1 & 2 WERE GREAT.

After being paroled from her ten year sentence, Michelle plots the destruction of Chris. She has waited ten years to see her daughter who she was never given a chance to see. Chris loves Ashley to no end and worries about the release of Michelle. In the meantime he has developed strong feelings for his case worker Simone. They start on with a love connection but not without Michelle closely on their heels plotting to reck havoc into their lives. Vengeance is Mine displays their are skeletons being hidden in closets.

I thought this was a great book. I was really shocked about a few of the things that happened in the novel. Hope Clarke definitely has a way of writing where you connect with the characters and can get lost in the story. I was very impressed and I look forward to any other novels she produces!

WELL I HAVE TO SAY HOPE C CLARK DID IT AGAIN,THIS BOOK WAS BETTER THAN THE FIRST NOVEL,NOT WITH MY SON.IT PICKS UP RIGHT WHERE IT LEFT OFF.MICHELLE IS BACK AND IS CRAZY AS EVER,SHE IS BEING RELEASED FROM PRISON AFTER SERVING TEN YEARS .ASHLEY THIER DAUGHTER IS KNOW TEN YEARS OLD AND ALL SHE WANTS TO DO IS MEET HER MOM.CHRIS TRIES HARD TO KEEP THAT FROM HAPPENING.KEESHA AND CHRIS ARE STILL FRIENDS EVEN THOUGH SHE IS MARRIED TO JAMAL AND HAS TWINS BY HIM SHE STILL FEELS SHE HAS TO PROTECT CHRIS,SINCE CHRISTINE DEATH SHE BLAMES HERSELF.I COULDNT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN,IT HAS SO MUCH TWIST AND TURNS,ITS FUNNY HOW LOVE CAN MAKE WOMAN GO CRAZY IF YOU LOVED THE FIRST NOVEL HOLD ON TO YOUR SEATS THE SECOND WILL BLOW YOUR MIND.AM READING THE FINAL BOOK TO THIS TRILOGY CARRYING MOMMAS BAGGAGE.

This book was not worth the time it took me to read, if you read the first part...don't waste your time reading this. It is the first book with words rearranged. Although there are little twists in the book it is not very good. I definitely will not be reading the final book!!
