Lovely photos to inspire, interesting history of Italy, lots of cultural info, but for hard information about where to go and what to see, rely on something newer with more detail. You'll miss a lot if this is the only resource you use.

Insight's City Guides combine stunning photography with literate text and a smattering of basic travel information.
