Feel those hairs on the back of your neck raise?,

Venom and Tears is absolutely savage. It is crafted masterfully, from beginning to end. There is NO filler on this record, guaranteed. Throwdown manages to do what few heavy bands these days do. They create their own monster while tipping the hat to some truely classic sounds of the past. They know where the beating heart of metal comes from and they show it respect, and you get the sense that it's not just because it's paying the bills. They took time with these songs to carve out a beast. Vendetta was just a preview of things to come. If you're starving for some good metal, you will not be disappointed with this purchase.

True metaller's delight,

Typically Throwdown is stereotyped easily as being a metalcore band due to them coming from Orange County like other bands such as Eighteen Visions and Bleeding Through. By the time they recorded 2005's Vendetta, their Pantera and Machine Head influences started to show more. Enter 2007, they've released Venom & Tears. Now, each Throwdown album is a soundtrack to a white-knuckle brawl. This album: an obliteration. More fast heavy riffs, quick thrashy drumming, and a first...actual guitars solos. A great album for fans, and if you weren't convinced before, this one might just convince you.

Very solid can't wait to get the other ones. I've had amazon recommend this band to me several times with other purchases, and for some reason I always ignored them. When this album came out I saw an ad for it on myspace so I listened to the first two tracks. I was sold immediatley. Its pretty much obvious they get influence from Pantera, the singer sounds much like Phil in his hoarse screaming and really the only difference in the instrumental sound is the guitar, I would say its heavier than Dimebag, although dimebag was probably better at coming up with a sweet riff, all of the songs on the album have very heavy catchy riffs. Highly recommend this album.
