The haunting melodies in this CD transport you to the ancient Incas cities, high in the mountains , where you can "feel" the forest around you, the birds' songs, the gurgling sound of a nearby brook. The pan flute and the characteristic drums of ancient Peru are played trhoughout the CD, lending a poignancy to the music that you will want to listen to again and again. It's great music to relax to. Just close your eyes and listen. You will know why.

I purchased this CD because I heard a sample of one of the songs on a Machu Pichu website. The music is relaxing, yet vivacious. I can listen to this CD in any mood. I love when I go to work and I am opening my store and I have this playing in the background while I am doing my paperwork. I am also a student and I love to study to this. It helps me focus without becoming distracted. Even my 11 year old was astounded by this music and is insisting that she have her own CD to listen to whenever she wants. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a multitude of different genres of music from classical to new age. It spans so many boundaries!!!

With what Edie Thomas said below. This is really relaxing music. There's some slow paced songs and some faster paced songs. They play the instruments, no synthed (sp) music, which is a plus for me. This is an cd for anyone who likes a wide variety of genres.
