I was so pleased that Kessinger Publishing chose to republish this book. My dad, Sydney Vereker, wrote this in 1937 during the depression. It was a hard time for the family and my father with only a fifth grade education decided to write a book about the one thing he knew everything about. It seemed that as a young lad in England he was an assistant to a ventrilogist during the height of vaudeville. The book inspired many ventriloquism clubs that corresponded with dad for many years after it was published.
