The vinyl coated snakes never have worked well for me. They always seem to get stuck and not push/pull through the trumpet easily. I only use the metal snakes now and have had little issues with them. They pull much easier and make cleaning your trumpet a little less frustrating. There are a few metal ones on Amazon...here is one: Micro Trumpet/Cornet Cleaning Snake

Vinyl coated snake does what it's intended to do. I just wish they made them more flexible to get through the valve slides.
