The batteries were old and corroded. The plastic broke easily. These are cheap, but I'd rather of payed more for something that didn't arrive broken.

These are nice and bright and look great on. They are even brightly colored so they really stick out during the day. They come on when they move and are supposed to turn off by themselves. The set we got though had a tendency to stay on. Just one of the units did this and the other did not. If you stop riding and you wait for them to go off or are near the bike and you noticethem not turning off, then you could just bounce the tire again and they usually will start working like they are supposed to. Unfortunatley, its hard to always remember to mak sure or wait until they go off. So eventually, the battery was dead the next time it was used. Still, thru look better than the stock bicycle valve caps that came with so we are going to leave them on. For the price, they are fun and if it was important to have them working again, we can get some replacement button cells. We may be doing that and will take a closer look at the unit when we do to see if there is anything noticeable that caused the issue in the first place.

I bought these last summer, and now that I'm biking in the dark, I opened the package & am trying to assemble. I cannot put the batteries in! The package says the type is AG-10, but all 6 batteries in the blister pack are LR1130. The diameter is too big. What a waste!
