5.0 out of 5 stars Such a great find! Don't hesitate!, October 26, 2011
OK, so I feel like I HAVE to write a review for this table, as I almost didn't buy it because there was no review! The other reason I almost didn't buy it was the delivery/assembly.

Let me just say, I am a 38 yr old gal who lives alone, in Chicago, in a 3 story walk up. That is 47 stairs...yes, I have counted. Now, how on earth was I planning to get this beast up my stairs...and then put it together alone? I wasn't sure...

If you landed on this table, then you might have seen the one at Pottery Barn for over $1000...well, I did too. It is the same thing, except this brand you options. You can have 2 bookcases as the base, or pick the design above (I did), which gives you an open long cubby section and a bookcase (you can also do 2 shelving units. Needless to say, they both required assembly, neither came with a strong man to carry and put it together, so I opted for the one that cost HALF as much.

It came today at noon. FAST! It is 5:00 om right now and I am staring at my table, FULLY assembled...BY MYSELF! Now, I will say, the UPS guy did carry the table top box up for me, as it was "only 50lb"...the other box held the 2 based sections and was at least 100lbs. It was never going to make it, even if I had help, so I opened it downstairs and spent about a hour lugging up the pieces a few at a time. No ideal, but I got it in my apt!

The shelving unit part took about an hour to put together and was pretty easy. Funny enough, I think it took me longer because I had opened all the pieces downstairs and they were all mixed together. The bookcase went faster and was easier to put together. I then, less than gracefully, popped the top on the 2 cases and BAM! My table is ready to go!

Not ideal, again, but DO NOT LET assembly bother you. Trust me, if I can do it (ALONE), you can too and you don't have to spend a ton extra...this thing is made well and is worth every penny! Good luck!
