5.0 out of 5 stars This camera is awesome!
This completes my 515. No software to download. You just plug it in and it automatically adds the software to the Palm. The pictures are very sharp and presentable when they are uploaded to your pc.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Product. Never think to buy it
I just got the camera after shiping it to one of my friends in US and he sent it back to me to Cairo. I am really shocked of the poor quality of images. I keep asking my self how can they sell a product like this. I tried it for few minutes then relized that the normal place to put it in is the trash. I paid $80 and got nothing. It is too slow for preview, quality is...

This arrived today and I couldn't wait to rip it right of the of the box. It does not disappoint. The installation was a breeze, just hotsynch the software and go. Photos are pretty good quality for a small digi-cam such as this, even the low-light ones came out well.

I'm using this camera with the Kyocera 7135 Smartphone. On screen display seems a bit sluggish, but that could be the phone. For those using the same phone, you need to go to the veo website to download an adapter patch for the software. It was easily locatable on the site and fixed the screen orientation problem.

The sleek bullet-like case is very handy and perfectly fits the camera. This is proving to be a neat little toy.

I keep asking my self how can they sell a product like this. I tried it for few minutes then relized that the normal place to put it in is the trash. I paid $80 and got nothing. It is too slow for preview, quality is poor, and never think about taking outdoor photos because you won't see anything. I have TT2 palm with high resolution screen and 24 bit color. When you move the photos to the PC, they are extermly bad and unacceptable. If I were in the US I am sure I would return it back.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun PDA attachment, December 28, 2003

I have had one of these for about a week and I'm impressed. I use it with my Treo 90 pda and it takes good picutures. At first I was worried--having read the other reviews, as all my pictures were turning out blurry. After I spent some time learning how to focus, the pictures became clear. I have a $700 digital camera that takes FANTASTIC pics. My son and daughter have $200 cameras that take really good pics. This pda attachment, costing roughly 60-70 dollars takes good pics. I really like the way the camera swivels so I can aim the camera at myself, at someone standing in front of me or at someone standing to the side of me. It's also very easy to use. I plugged it into my pda and within an hour I was hotsynching the pics to my desktop computer and playing with them. It's a great product. I'm very satisfied with the purchase. For the price, it's a good and fun pda attachment.

1.0 out of 5 stars save the extra few hundred to buy a real one, June 4, 2003

This camera was junk you cant even try to take a picture with it outside. I couldnt get the thing to focus and the only thing it was good for was taking a picture of myself from 8 inches away and even that pic looked [bad]. Id give it no stars the scale dosnt go that low. This camera should be a toy in a happy meal. Dont waste the money just wait a few more weeks till you have enough saved to go buy regular digital camera for 300 bucks or so my brother has a nice one that has a multi media card slot and was just as easy to take pics with that and then just put the card in my treo as using the veo sd and the pics with my brothers camera acaully looked like normal pics instead of a cover on some old 60's acid music cd.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hard to focus, March 17, 2003

The lens is focused by turning a small conical shaped portion of the housing (hard to grab) more that 360 degrees to get the full range. My PDA resolution is 160x160 and it's hard to tell when you've got the image in focus or not.

Veo takes blurred pictures, is very slow, holds only 10 at a time. Flimsy, like a CrackerJack prize. Veo software is a space hog. And it automatically loads two more pieces of software -- one to transmit the pics to another device, which requires a compatible ISP (more software), and one with no apparent purpose except to occupy PDA space until you pay more to get an "unlock" key and open it.
Plus, the Veo software screws up Launch'Em and/or OS-5.
It took a hard reset to get rid of the problems Veo caused. ... Veo is a real disappointment.

1.0 out of 5 stars Does not work, January 16, 2011

The product never worked for me...but by the time I realized I had already left the country so I didn't bother returning it. For this I would probably go into a store and testing it out first. I learnt my lesson the hard way...learn from my mistakes.

2.0 out of 5 stars Veo Photo Traveler for Palm Handhelds, June 15, 2009
This review is from: Veo SD Photo Traveler for Palm Handhelds (Office Product)
The Veo Photo Traveler is a cute and fun SDIO camera, for some models of Palm handhelds.

I paid about $ 15.00, on ebay, for the outdated and discontinued device.

The User Manual specifically lists the models that are compatible with it. Although the device is Palm OS 4.0 and 5.0 supported, it will only work in the following Palm devices: m125, m130, m500, m505, m515, and i705 with expansion slot; ARM and Dragonball.

The packaging for the Veo Photo Traveler also lists compatibility with the Palm Tungsten-W, Tungsten-T, and the Handspring Treo 90.

A CD-Rom, supplied with the SDIO camera, contains the SDIO v2.0 slot driver, as well as the Veo Creative Studio, a useful photo imaging software.

The camera works well on my vintage Palm m515, has manual focus, no flash, and provides acceptable photos indoors, as well as outdoor use. The manual focus is a little awkward, as the lens housing is quite small and smooth, lacking the knurling required for easily adjusting the focus. But I later added a custom soft, knurled black rubber ring to the outside of the lens housing, so the focusing is now quick and sure.

I prefer my 5MB digital camera for clean, serious work, but the NiMH batteries always seem to be in a depleted state when I really need it. But for quick and simple shots, my crude, but trusty Veo Photo Traveler is always ready, due to the always charged Palm m515, with its internal Lithium-Polymer battery. Also, the lcd viewing screen on my Palm m515 device is clearly viewable in bright sunlight, an uncommon feature with pda's. And the swivel feature of the lens of the Veo Photo Traveler is a definite plus.

Warning: The Veo Photo Traveler is NOT compatible with the Palm TX! The Veo Photo Traveler is not recognized by the Palm TX, and when I installed the driver, my Palm TX completely, and totally, crashed. A hard reset was required and all my programs in the device were obliterated.

Veo (formerly Xirlink) no longer exists, so downloads and support of any fashion are nonexistant.
