Symphony in hue is my favorite Vera Bradley pattern and I use backpack purses most of the time in my busy life. The purse has two side pockets, a large front and back pocket - one with a zipper and one with a magnetic catch. The magnetic catch works really well, much to my surprise. On the inside this bag has two
smaller pockets, so altogether, there's a great deal of room and it works as an organizer purse as well.
The straps are adjustable and very comfortable. The only drawback is that it is very expensive. But knowing the Vera Bradley quality, it will be well worth the money because it will have a long life !

I had to return this backpack, because it was so small. Granted, I should have checked the actual dimensions, but my niece wanted this Vera Bradley backpack, so I ordered it. We ended up buying the laptop backpack instead, which she loves! This small one is definitely not suited for students, because it's not large enough to carry books or binders.

if you want a purse that you don't have to worry about, this could be it! I love wearing this with just the few things I need for a light day (simple cosmetics, pills, cards, keys, and not much more.) Don't weigh it down and you should be able to forget you've even got it on (until you need it!) This bag sits very nicely on the back and doesn't chafe on the neck or shoulders. And there's no closure to worry about for the top because the weight of the bag keeps it closed. The "front" pocket is a little difficult for big hands, so I keep my keys in it, but it is nice and deep for a change pocket or a perfume or whatever you want to keep more handy than the rest. And because it's Vera Bradley, getting a nice little hand-sized bag in a matching color is a breeze! (I use the tech pouch for my iPhone and my credit cards.)

I really like the bag but it's too small to hold a normal file folder. This is really going to make it hard on me carrying all of my papers to and from school.

I have purchased several Vera Bradley products over the years, including this backpack, and have found them all to be very high quality and well-made.

This particular backpack I specifically purchased for family outings to amusement parks. When my daughter was little, I needed a big backpack to carry everything but as she has reached her teenage years, I need to carry less but still need to take sunscreen, medicine, etc. This has been the perfect solution. As others have said, it is on the small side so check the dimensions prior to ordering. It isn't nearly big enough for my daughter to carry all of the books/binders she needs for high school.

There is a flap pocket on the front that doesn't have a zipper but does use a magnet to keep it closed. There is a pocket on each side that looks like it might work for water bottles but they are too small. On the back of the pack (up against your back) there is a zippered pocket which is very secure. Inside, there are two small pockets in the main compartment.

One of my favorite parts of the backpack is the handle -- not the straps. It is round and well-padded so it is incredibly comfortable to carry that way.

I plan on using this more as a purse as the weather warms up and I have the need to be outside with my hands free.

I just took this bag on a 2 week European vacation! Perfect!! Pockets were great! Plenty and placed right! You can carry what you need, but still not too bulky! Safer than backpack because it slings around shoulder and the flap would be tough for someone to pick-pocket!! Can a bag get any better?? And its beautiful!

I have owned this large Vera Bradley backpack for over a year. I have the Bali Gold pattern that is now retired, but overall I enjoyed using this bag. I used it to carry my books and laptop for my classes. The only bad thing I would say about this bag is that the it is a tad bit small and it had very little padding. I could only fit about one large book and my laptop. If you are going to buy a very bradley backpack, I would suggest getting the new vera backpack that has a specialized compartment for your laptop and other books. The new backpack is also available in more colors and has way more padding. Enjoy!!

When I ordered this item I thought I was getting the large backpack. As I searched the typical printed vera bradley large backpacks they had a zippered side pocket and was much larger This item should read small backpack. I was traveling the next day and needed something to travel with or I would have returned it. It will not hold an overnight's worth of clothing.

I got this bag from VeraBradley.com, and I can't wait to use it! I am volunteering this summer to teach kindergarteners safety and I can't wait to use this! It will keep my hands free yet still hold everything like my water bottle, extra sunscreen, sunglasses, phone, and more! Very nice bag--like always from Vera Bradley!

My husband gave me this backpack in Safari Sunset for Christmas and I absolutely ADORE this bag and pattern! :) I love having the backpack bag to tote around with it and as another reviewer pointed out - it has tons of room and lots of pockets for storage. It's very slim and lightweight - perfect for being on the go and out and about to sling over your shoulder. A great bag! Every woman should have one in every color! :) My husband has great taste - LOVE him!
