Better than Pop, sexier than Soul and all of the above!, August 30, 1999
By A Customer
Clearly a change of gears for BMG/RCA's Jennifer Brown who's previous releases have sounded more like formula than this surprisingly great new release, Vera. She's taken her sound up a few notches with a new producer (Billy Mann; Celine Dion, Hall/Oates, Chaka Khan) and a great sounding band that lifts her to new heights. Stand out songs include "Alive," Tuesday Afternoon," and "Two in The Morning." Brown is dynamic, seductive and soulful and shows her best side on this very musical new release.

They wouldn't let me write a second review for HOME, so here it is., October 29, 2006
I love her CDs. Vera was one of my favorites, until I listend to HOME>
Well people. Here it is, another month later, and guess what?
I'm still playing this over and over.
What I can't figure out is WHY ISN'T SHE A STAR HERE IN THE US?
As I said in my previous review, I am a musician, and playing piano,
and saxophone doesn't have anything to do with the smooth jazz I like to play on my own.
This woman's voice is just TOO sexy!! I know what you're thinking.
What an old dude. I have listened to others over and over, like Chante, Maysa, Jann Johnson, Khani Cole... They all have fantastic arrangements, and have put forth a plethora of great music.
This lady however just does something of her own. It is her, it is her music. The songs are unique, and arrangements are perfect.
Well, maybe I some of you will try her from this, and others won't.
On my part, I just can't stop putting on my headphones, and plugging her in. This is pure magic... Trust me.. I know music.

Cheap enough to buy for 1 song..., July 10, 2006
This was an average album and too explicit for most. However, for the song Tuesday Afternoon, it was worth buying the whole album. That song is hot!
